I'm not OP, but I can relate.

It's about how this sort of thing even exists, that someone would create that scenario. Then that scenario just starts haunting you. You know it's not true, that it never happened, but now the idea of that scenario has awakened in your imagination.

But of course, the idea that "it's just a doujin" is something worth holding onto, but that also becomes obsolete when you know the amount of people who read, translate and enjoy this horror that you find so repulsive that just thinking about it makes you feel sick.

I know it might sound ridiculous, you have to take into account how precious the character in question is. She's someone who has been there for many, many years, there are many emotions and memories associated with her, and you think about her everyday.

When a similar thing happened to me, I pretty much had anxiety attacks for at least half a year every time I saw or read something that reminded me of my own incident. It's been about 2 years since it happened, and I still suffer from it sometimes.

I'm doing my best to control those emotions, because I know they are not logical. I'm usually very strict about not letting other fans' depictions of characters bother me. But this is something you have to work with and fight, in order to get better, there is no easy solution, no single thought or act that will make them go away.

I can't really remember how I felt when I first discovered these doujinshi, but nowadays it doesn't really bother me anymore. Actually I even look up for H doujinshi for the extra arousal seeing a familiar character violated every now and then.
