As for Greg's claims about the so-called "Old Testament atrocities", I will say this. God is under no moral obligation to keep us alive. It is His prerogative to do what He wants with our lives. If he wants to strike us all downright now, that's His prerogative. The problem here is that Greg seems to think that it is Christian doctrine that God's ultimate purpose for creating us is for us to be happy in this life. That's simply not Christianity.

God's commands, which stem from His perfectly good nature, constitute our moral duties. In this way, they are objectively true. That means they don't change. That being said, that doesn't mean that they ignore circumstances. For example, killing someone is wrong in certain circumstances and right in others. In the exact same way, some of God's commands to Israel, if applied to day, may have consequences which aren't helpful.

I've already kind of covered this, but Greg asserted that it's obvious that not everything in the Bible is right. I highly doubt Greg understands what the implications of God's commands in the Bible were, and so it seems this comment is baseless (or at least lacks any justification). He also asserts that certain things in the Bible don't hold true today. This seems to be a misunderstanding of moral ontology.

You forgot this one:
>All of that being said, the fact that Greg and Andy tout themselves as libertarians, yet think the government should be involved in the religious institution of marriage is shameful. True libertarians wouldn't want the government involved in religious institutions like marriage. They'd want the government to stay out of the matter and leave it to the churches and private individuals.
She doesn't seem to be aware of the fact that the US government issues marriage licenses.

>> No.9137048

>>9137043
She's right, though. She's saying they should say government SHOULDN'T issue marriage licenses IF they were true libertarians. Which they apparently aren't.

>> No.9137059

>>9137043
I don't understand why people think marriage is a religious thing. Marriage is not exclusive to the Abrahamic. religions. Every culture in the world has some form of marriage - it is cultural. It is more in tune with contract law than anything. Which is precisely the reason why fags can and should marry.

>>9137048
See above. The reason some libertarians are of the opinion that government should be involved with marriage is because it has to do with contract law not religion.

>> No.9137074

>>9137059
Ask yourself why the government rewards marriage in the first place.

That's why gays shouldn't be issued a marriage license. Their marriage produces nothing and is of no value.

China's child policy has proven disastrous.

China's policy is retarded because it results in parent's killing their own daughters or resenting them.

A more sensible plan is to require an income of ~$30k per child.

Hello everyone I am a woman though I identify as a male lesbian. I sleep around a lot and I will happily admit to being a slut although slut is just another word for sexually liberated women. Speaking of women, gender pay gaps are horrible and women should get paid more because we can do jobs better than men. Anyway my question is, I want to divorce my husband and accuse him of raping me so I can get money. He treated me badly by having a circumcised penis and those are worse because fuck America, Europe is the best country. Also the Holocaust never happened and I hope Sharia law takes over the world. I feel the homosexual community of /jp/ would most know how I feel.

Please respond.
