There's a book called The suicide, By Emile durkheim I do believe. According to him, there are three kinds of suicides.

Anomic; to many sudden changes in an individuals life prevents any chance of a stable life and chrushes the individuals will to live.

Altruistic; the individual sacrifices itself for the benefit of the community.

Egoistic; the individual kills itself because it cannot stand the rest of its community and choses to flee its existance over confronting it.
