What did you dream today? Tell me about your dreams /jp/.

>> No.9088002

I don't know why but recently almost all of my dreams are related to Super Mario 64 and I haven't played that game in months. From what I can remember, the dream I've had today involved some airships and I had to infiltrate some kind of village. A few Zelda characters showed up to help me, and I don't remember anything else aside of that.

My only touhou-related dream was a few days ago, and it was only touhou related because Nitori was one of the main characters. Duke Nukem, a guy strong as fuck and Nitori were infiltrating some sort of base, Metal Gear style, and Nitori was providing intel support.

I dreamed that I was walking through a desert, wearing rags. I came across a man in knight's armor. He ripped me open and began to munch on my intestines. Red balloons floated out from inside me. They popped once they left the atmosphere. Purple liquid came out of the balloons. The liquid formed two moons. The moons then flourished with a variety of different flowers, with the sun shining behind them.

Do you keep your dream diary on paper or digitally, /jp/?

I write my in a little green notebook every morning, but I'm thinking about switching to my phone or notebook computer.

I had a dream that I went to a big city with my mum and it started storming really badly and they closed the interstate exits on our way back. We couldn't take the one back home so we had to drive back a long way around. The storm passed, but the exits were still closed. Before we got back home, I left the car and flew down an exit I was really curious about for some reason.

Daylight was beginning to break, and there was this huge cliff towering over the right side of the interstate exit, which seemed to be leading me off into the mountains. The cliff was really imposing, and I was pretty worried some rocks would fall off and crush me to death because it was hanging out over the road.

The exit led out to a dead end, and the road turned into cobblestone as it meandered up towards a giant plastic castle, several tens of stories tall. There was a "Chuck E. Cheese" logo emblazoned near the top of the giant castle near the center of the castle facing toward the sunrise which was a little up and to the right.

I was presently being stopped by two middle-aged men in black suits and aviators, with earpieces. One was black and one was white. I assumed they were security, and was proven correct when they stopped to scan me with metal detecting wand. They took my pack off my back, which I was unaware that I was carrying, and flagged me ahead toward the castle entrance.

There I was greeted by a couple of lolis in maid uniforms, who greeted me in turn. I asked what I should do next, and the one with dark hair replied,

"Just give me 100 bucks and head into that door straight and to your left over there."

"Just give me 100 bucks and head into that door straight and to your left over there."

"Isn't that a little much for a tip?" I replied, brushing her off and heading for the entrance, which was two ornate wooden doors. Not that I had any money at all anyway.

Inside the castle, the floors were lined with red velvet and green marble. I looked around, and saw my mum waving at me as she had just caught up. Knowing that she is afraid of heights, I asked her if she wanted to peer down at the ground off the top of the castle with me. She gave me an irritated look, and reminded me that that wasn't something that she was particularly keen on. Wanting to ditch her, I told her I was going to find a restroom.

I found one a few corridors over. It wasn't at all what I was expecting. The bathroom looked like something out of an abandoned mental hospital, with unidentifiable brown-red liquid stains all over the green tile on the floors and wall.
The lights were dim and flickering bare fluorescent tubes that appeared to be attached to their fixtures with spiderweb. I had already seen 3 roaches in the time since I entered 30 seconds ago, and the place reeked of shit.

It can't be helped, when you have to go, you have to go. I looked for a toilet that wasn't still clogged with used toilet paper and excrement and couldn't find one.

Just then, a corpulent old black dude in a wife beater entered, with armfuls of supplies. I figured he might work here, but then realized he was just staying here at this castle/hotel/scat resort. He had fresh toilet paper, hand sanitizer, air freshener, disinfectant and those little sheets you stick on the toilet to sit on. I asked him for some of his supplies, and he offered me enough for more than a few rounds of chocolate thunder.

We decided he would use the back stall, and I would use the one closest to the door, in case anything bad happened. He went in his stall and locked it, but before I could go in mine, the maids appeared in the doorway, apparently taking a break on the clock.

The dark-haired loli handed me a coin roll she pulled out of a pack of cigarettes, and said.

"You want one?"

"Uh... sure." I actually really didn't even smoke anymore.

"Um... aren't you a little young to be doing something like this?"

"Fufufufu, and what's a worthless lolicon who lives with his parents doing chiding me? To be honest, I really didn't expect you to even accept a cigarette. Didn't you quit?"

I was about to light it with a lighter that I for some reason had in my pocket, when she put hers up to mine and lit it that way. With the first inhale, I immediately regretted accepting the cancer stick. It was nasty, light menthol shit. I also wasn't used to the smoke anymore and coughed a lot, like a teenager. Just then, my mom walked by the carry-out window a little up and to my right. She asked what I was doing and gave me a disappointed look.

Then I woke up.

Not only is it impossible to remember a dream in such detail, but dreams by their very nature are almost entirely arbitrary and would not have anywhere near as coherent or chronological a narrative as yours.

Seriously, it is so easy to tell when people have invented dreams that I can't imagine anyone is actually stupid enough to believe you ever had this. You can't even claim to be able to lucid dream because this isn't evident in your description at all.

What exactly are you trying to gain from lying?

>> No.9088429

>>9088352
Okay, but that's completely wrong. I have a notebook full of them.

If that isn't arbitrary, I don't know what is. It doesn't make any sense to me and I had the dream. That's word for word what I wrote, half-asleep this morning recalling what I had just woken up from.

Also, remembering a dream in that much detail isn't impossible. I've been doing it for years. Instead of bombarding you with more walls of text from the night before last or some other night where I actually had an interesting dream, I'll just suggest you go to a community that frequently talks about dreams and see that this isn't at all uncommon.

I normally have 3-5 pages worth of dreams each morning, but I still only have DILDs very rarely and can't WILD at all yet.

Also, my memory better than average normally, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Besides, why would I bother writing all that? It wasn't even an interesting dream. Nothing happened really, no one died, and there were no fights, sex or tea parties.

I've been writing down my dreams in my computer for years. Depending on how you split it, i've got 1327 or 798 dreams. The first number is if you count individual dreams, second is if you count days I remembered dreams, because some nights I have 2 or 3 different dreams.

One of my favorites was a dream I had where I went on a rafting trip with a bunch of touhous and few Turok characters. We stopped for the night and had dinner with a mad scientist, he poisoned us all and we beat him to death before we all died. Not a really interesting plot, but I don't remember it for that, I remember it because it was the most lush and detailed dream i've ever had. The jungle, shrubbery, water, and buildings were unreal. It's the dream that got me to start writing down my dreams.

Last night I dreamed Ranka Lee and I walked along a highway barefoot holding hands while a meteor barreled toward Earth. Don't remember what we talked about.

None of the dreams on that page are as specific or as 'neatly' chronological because our mind does not think in this way when we sleep. The whole point is that part of our brains shut down or function only in part.

This is why it's very unlikely that a dreamer would be in the same 'scene' (sometimes called a mise en scene among psychologists) for more than 10 seconds (weaker visiospatial sketchpad), and why you're unlikely to recall motion well (lower motion perception as dorsal stream and visual cortex shut down in REM sleep).

Playing the special snowflake argument won't work - You show no regard to any classic behaviour patterns in dreaming and thus your dream is false.

Actually none of those things in my dream lasted as long as it took to read them or write them.

I never claimed to be a special snowflake, but if you lack an eye for detail then it's like trying to explain the hanging gardens of babylon to a blind toddler.

And you are very wrong about motion, I've flied, swam, ran, jumped great distances, fell and floated in my dreams, as well as chased things. And many, many other people report the same. In fact you would probably have a harder time finding someone who hasn't had a dream in which they were running than someone who has.

I'm sure that you think you are some kind of professional armchair psychologist or whatever, but even if that were your field of study, I'm sure you would be well-acquainted with how pseudo-scientific it often is.

Also, those dream snippets aren't a single unbroken scene, for instance the bathroom is a very different place than the inside of the castle, which was very different than the stormy city or the interstate.

I'm sorry you can't put your dreams neatly on paper, or maybe you just have terrible recall. Many of those dreams on there are indeed as detailed and chronological, some even more so. That doesn't make me or them liars, but you calling us such is very rude, and a bad way to vent your frustrations.

The sensation of being shot felt so real and vivid in my dream. It felt like there was a burning hole in my chest and that it just kept getting hotter and hotter.

I tried calling my parents on my phone but when they answered I couldn't talk. I was in so much pain. Fellow police said they were on their way but they never came in the dream nor EMS. I just sat there on the street staring off as nobody helped me and nobody cared.

Isn't lucid dreaming tiresome? Wouldn't it be a bit draining to have your brain never enter that "sleep" state?

If it wasn't for this belief, I would be a king of the dreamworld by now.

>> No.9089422

>>9089395
No, you really probably can't lucid dream every night, and the best lucid dreaming isn't done when you normally would be asleep for the night anyway. It would be a WILD done in the afternoon.

Recording dreams from each night can get pretty tiresome if you go all out and try to wake yourself up during the end of every dream and write it down. It's not as tiring as it sounds though. It's really the broken sleep that makes you tired, not the vivid dream cycles.

You sleep in a similar way regardless. You have multiple dreams every night, you just don't realize it because you haven't focused on improving awareness and recall. If you were able to achieve lucidity via DILD every night, yeah you would probably get more REM sleep instead of deep non-REM sleep which would make you a bit more tired, but you would also be in the fraction of a percent who had this level of talent.

Really, read up on it though. You don't have to make any trade-offs to lucid dream.

I pulled out one box at random and opened it, i don't remember what it was. the box contained an article written on loose parchment and several other pieces of paper that i believe had writing or diagrams on them. may have been recurring, it all seemed very familiar.
