My favorite thing about Konata is that she has character. She's almost like me except she is a little girl and she has lots of funny conversations with her friends, unlike the ripoff ``Tsumiki'' who can only blush and find Io-san attractive like all the other characters in the show except the Sunohara one.

When I discovered konata, I learned what otaku is
I was so overjoyed. I was saved. Because I was otaku. Because I learned that there are people like me. That it's not me who is fucked up but the society around me. That I shouldn't judge myself by the scale of those who I know IRL.
But I wasn't like Konata. I didn't like mmorpgs. I loved the works of fiction I loved and I never discussed them with people IRL. I always liked complicated geopolitical strategies then other types of games. I always liked VNs and books more then movies and anime.

And yet I thought I should be like konata. So I started forcing myself. To play mmos. To express my interests in school. To act like a childish hyper retard. It hurt. It hurt my brain. I felt literal pain when doing these things. And yet I kept doing this.

Until one day...I realized I am not like her. I am far more then her. That she is just a faceless joke-like stereotype without any unique personality of her own.
And then, after many months, I stopped trying.
Now I don't know if I should hate her or myself. Probably neither.
