She is very pretty. Not my favorite character, but I do really like her.

I also think gradient hair is a bit of a fetish of mine. I don't even know how that works, but it's just so beautiful and um, makes the girl stand out, and acts like a natural decoration. It looks especially good with long, wavy or poofy hair.

I also love women who are curvy and just a tad plump, and are not too tall or too short.

So, I think she is very attractive. Probably one of the most attractive Touhous there are.

Her personality is maybe a little plain, or perhaps simple-minded. But at the same time I understand her motives, and can even relate to how she feels in a way.

I also like her backstory, (I'm very interested in youkai lore and japanese history) even if I am probably more curious of the youkai she has befriended and converted, rather than herself.

I was recently working on my voile.gensokyo.org backlog for doujinshi raw scans, and I was surprised to see Ichirin playing active roles in many Myourenji-centered doujinshi. It was very nice, I love it when even in the big households, everyone gets to play a part in the stories.

I dont know much about her but from the little ive heard she would be one of my favorite touhous if I learned more.

She's near the bottom of my personal preferences list, though only in a "meh, don't really care" sense as there's very few 2hus I actively dislike. She has the unfortunate handicap of appearing in a game where every other character in that game is more interesting than she is, and most of them have appeal that's leagues ahead of her's.

My main problem with Byakuren is the fanbase, and how good chunk of it places her on a pedestal where she pretty clearly doesn't belong (or at least I think it's pretty clear). It's gotten better over time, of course, but it's still there.

I'm a huge fan of Miko, but I'm ready and willing to admit that she's a racist bitch. I just wish the vocal Byakuren fans would be more willing to admit the same about her (or that the fans that are willing to admit the same about her would be more vocal).

Byakuren has a very obvious distaste for humans, try as she might to hide it. On the other hand, Miko detests youkai and makes almost no effort to hide it. Both prejudices seem founded in their pre-Gensokyo upbringings; I expect that, if they end up being recurring characters over the years, both prejudices will be broken down as they both watch and live in a functional society where humans and youkai regularly interact without trying to rip each other's heads off.

I suspect I may be sufficiently biased that I should not go off on the Byakuren fandom, so I think it best that I leave it by saying "Youkai Jesus" is a stupid and inaccurate meme. Iku's the real Youkai Jesus anyway.

I like her savior-like demeanor in combination with her hinted darker side. She reminds me a bit of Friend from 20th Century Boys, for me she has great villain potential. I'm a sucker for alternate character interpretations and she fills a nice range from Yokai-Jesus to Yokai-Hitler.
Also, great character design and theme song.
