And Diablo 3 took speed runners 2 hours to beat at launch. Compare that to the 20+ hours it takes to beat Diablo 1 on normal.

Yeah but that took years of people getting to know the game and what they could exploit. People were beating D3 quickly at launch.

D3 is entirely too linear. It's always telling you exactly where to go and what to do. It also relies heavily on cinematic and stories which are atrociously written. Really it's inexcusable. Combine that with the fact that there is no PvP, no LAN, and no single player and we can see why this game is a failure.

The no single player option is actually a bigger problem than one might think.
