Matters not, Mima herself said Reimu had the blood of the Hakurei, it means the line has been going through flawlessly.

The non-blood-related issue must have been an emergency measure due to the fact that Gensokyo's barrier subsists on whether or not the current shrine maiden is alive, should Reimu die without a heir, Gensokyo would go poof. That was also one of the reasons the rules were made.
