I don't know about that. While there are plenty of individual works that show 'Eiki as mature, whenever her and Komachi are pictured side by side there almost invariably seems to be a height and healthiness difference in Komachi's favor. The only outward sign of maturity she has is her face (and perhaps her station), and that's even more variable than any other physical trait.

The only significant depiction of 'Eiki and Komachi as the same apparent age is Aki Eda's doujin "Sabotage" - and while Aki Eda is ZUN's chosen illustrator for one of the official mango, that doesn't make his doujins any more official than the rest.

Anyway, he/she portrays just about everyone as looking at least 18. Well, the 15-18 variable crew (Reimu, Marisa, etc.), anyway.

I have a pretty large Shikieiki folder, and I don't discriminate when I save pics, there are far more where she looks younger than Komaichi than ones where she looks older, at least in my collection.

Posting the official versions for comparison.

...Aaand posting Reisen from the same game for further comparison. It seems that BOTH Komachi and Shikieiki look older than the "mid-age" Touhou characters like Reisen, Marisa, Raymoo, etc.

Has Reisen's physical age even been mentioned anywhere? If she entered Gensokyo anywhere near the same time Eirin and Kaguya did, she could well be over a thousand years old herself.

The apparent ages themselves don't matter that much since they are subject to the choice of graphical style: what does matter is keeping the order of seniority correct. The principle is like this - if Reimu is drawn as a 25 year old, that's okay. But if Reimu is drawn as 14 year old and Remilia as a 25 year old, that's just fanboy bullshit because the official Remilia is clearly much younger looking than Reimu.

The same applies to Shikieiki and Komachi. You can make them both healthy or old skanks or lolis or whatever, but you can't take the older character of the two and make her the younger one. (Well, you _can_, but it's again just fanboy bullshit.)
