I have read that science has the technology to preform a brain transplant but they lack the procedure to do it. The entire nerves system would have to be mapped out and the host body would have to be a perfect match.

The main obstacle is that it's illegal to do medical experimentation on people, even consenting ones. Medicine will start small with this. The next decade will be about repairing the bodies of deformed or mutilated people, who will be guinea pigs for the technology. The decade after will be about the commercialization of it, and plastic surgery (Which is basically what you're talking about) will be a big part of that.

I was thinking that nervs are stagnant for a reason. So you have your pathway thats reliable and unchanging. By introducing new cells to that, amoung the billions of nerv cells you are going to cause bugs in the system.
