There's some sweeter beers out there, or at least some less bitter ones. Milk stouts are nice, so are lambics (they taste like pop). Sam Adam's Chocolate Bock literally tastes like chocolate milk. It's sweet and chocolately.

I can't stand any sort of alcohol. Even the standard low alcohol content beers make me gag. I can only stand wine coolers that taste sweet, and that really bothered me since I like to be macho and manly.

I've had access to alcohol since I was a teenager but never liked it. I hate beer and the only thing I can drink is liquor, but I hate drinking around other people.

The only time I drink is when I want to drink enough to pass out. I usually just a get a bottle of something and drink it straight. Sometimes I take a swish of coke and then drink from the bottle until I can't taste anymore then just drink it straight. That's only once in a while though, my father and brothers both drink heavily and I'm afraid drinking occasionally would turn me into a real alcoholic. Being a neet plus alcoholic would be a bad combination.

On another subject, have any of you ever tried an alcohol enema before? It will get you drunk in minutes and you don't have to taste anything.

Once you start to like some of the hardier reds, you'll be ready to branch out.

A bad thing to do is jump headfirst into hard things you don't like, and mixing to dilute the flavor. In the end you'll just end up sick and hating the taste.

Stay away from swill like jack daniels too, in fact you might want to avoid all bourbon until you develop your tastes some. Good places to branch out from wine are sake, brandy, or good mid shelf vodka if you want something with full liquor kick. Stolinchya and Russian Standard are both good for that.

I actually mix drinks a lot, but limoncello is one of the few things I like to drink straight. It's pretty sweet and distinct by itself. If you get really good imported limoncello, it can be fantastic on its own. I don't think limoncello is a mixing liqueur.

When you drink liquor or beer or wine or mead or whatever, you're always drinking ethanol alcohol which is the psychoactive drug contained within that alters your brain. Granted some alcohols may have certain impurities that can cause you to have worse hangovers, but that doesn't affect the way you feel.
