I think it will be somekind of parellel world thing if it goes that way. I think it will first time force you on "happy end" and then start you give more choices on next playthroughs. also I wonder whats the deal with shadow/corrupted Hisui in those sneakpeak screens, as thats one if my fetishes. Dropped aozora gakko no senseikun after 3/6 routes because I couldn't go on.
There were some nice points like the overall scenario, some of the characters and the youkai encyclopaedia you can fill by finding youkai hidden in the background while reading, but all in all it felt genuinely bad.
Also, the route of girl I had most interest in fell out incredibly short and unsatisfying.

Don't expect the greatest masterpiece of all time.
I think people rave about it a lot because this year has been pretty subpar so far.
It's upper middle level, definitely worth reading and probably in the bests of the year, though that simply because this year suck.

But unlike Midori no Umi it doesn't lose any steam, it manages to keep the reader interested till the end which is already quite a feat.

As much as I'm loathe to ask for recommendations, I need your help.

I have this craving for a normal eroge with a protagonist who is a jerk. And by normal, I mean it shouldn't be a nukige or fantasy with an evil route. I just want someone who's selfish, aware of his surroundings (i.e. not donkan), speaks his mind and is basically brash and/or rude. He could even be a nice guy for all I care, but he shouldn't be a 世話好き.

Now I know there probably won't be many protagonists, if any, who fall under all of these categories, but take it as a loose guideline of what I'm looking for.

I finished the best girl's route in Triangle Heart 3. Now I will be unable to do anyone else's out of guilt. The game is more entertaining than most of the galge that come out these days. And I feel it's aged pretty well, too. I was surprised to find it full voiced, even the male friend character. There are crappy games that come out today that still seem unable to do that.

It was pretty cool too that you are presented with a decision point where you can decide to have sex or not, and if you choose not to, you can finish the route as normal, just without the lewd.

I would have liked a little but longer of a route though, and more romance. I love lots of バカップル in my galge, especially with characters like Akira. I originally only found the game because I was trying to find VNs with orekko heroines, and I was pleasantly surprised.

You can sum up a lot of novels in that retarded way if you put your mind to it.
It's more similar to a book than a regular novel (not saying it's as good as abook), so it feels slower and full of "padding". This time he put the worst of the "nothing happens" nichijou scenes as sort of archive sidestories you can skip though.

It's true that Mahoyo had a lot of retarded part.
The whole drama of the first half was about how they had to kill Soujurou yet it's revealed later they can just erase his memories.
Or Soujurou killing Beowulf, it was easily one of the most retarded shit I have ever seen.
I know this is chuuni and all but usually even in the chuuniest stuff there is a semblance of consistency.
There Soujurou just punch a punch that is so perfect it find a flaw where there is no flaws and defeat a being he shouldn't even be able to touch normally.
Worse thing is that Nasu goes on a long tirade about it, how it's due to practice and effort that Soujurou was able to get this miracle (yeah with some practice you too can kill a 2000 years old phantasmal beast with 2 punches).
Fucking retarded, completely inconsistent.

Not only that but I also found the writing boring, I admit it's more of a personal opinion there but the writing felt souless.
I guess he tried writing it like an actual novel but it's just not at that level, something like Bengarachou from raiL-soft read like an actual novel, the narration is vibrant.
Mahoyo though made me feel nothing.
It's a 6/10 for me, mostly thank to the production

>> No.9010505

>The whole drama of the first half was about how they had to kill Soujurou yet it's revealed later they can just erase his memories.
Well, they explain the memories thing requires research of runes and stuff, not to mention capturing the actual person. They assumed Soujuuro was an enemy or hostile anyways, and killing was the safest method, it's just that Aoko never killed anyone so it was all basically a lot of tsundere bark and no bite.

...which is not to say it's some amazing characterization or anything, but I've seen games getting away with way worse convenient shit. And yeah, rail.soft is in another league, but it's nto a stlye I dislike, maybe I just have a different concept of a "6/10", I guess.

Just started playing School Days HQ
I'm pretty shocked that the "HQ" version released in late 2010 is 800x600

Also, blown away the fact that this is a full-animation VN. Shit. I don't know if I'll be able to enjoy animu after having animated story with VN choices and plot. How is this format still not popular? It's been 7 years since the original was released.

Oh, and a question for all of you who played other Overflow titles: I know there's also Summer Days, Cross Days, and Shiny Days. Are they basically the same story told in a different setting, or are they something more? Is it just named in a sequel-y manner because of School Days popularity, or is it more of if you played one, you've played all kind of thing?

Now I've lost 10 times in a row to this fucking tentacle vamp with AK. If I go both guns, seems like I cannot evade and my accuracy is still rather poor.. and probably run out of ammo before I kill him. I tried changing knife/hand-to-hand, boomerang or spear seem to make a difference in dodging bullets with lighter weapons.. but at close range it just melees me into pieces anyways and I cannot evade, defend nor counter, and also its also faster than me and takes the initiative every time I attack. None of the games are continuations of each other. Summer Days takes place during summer break and has Setsuna as the main heroine. She is working at Radish while Sekai is sick. The game is significantly less dramatic than School Days or Cross Days, and Makoto can be a pretty good guy in it. You can play it so he is faithful to Setsuna, and have a happy ending with her.

Cross Days takes place at the same time and in the same setting as School Days, except that the protagonist is not Makoto, it is a boy named Yuuki. There are several additional characters compared to School Days.

Shiny Days is essentially the same as Summer Days, with the exception being that there is a new common route that focuses on the new heroine. The game branches early on, with one path taking you through the new route and one through the old one. The new common route is basically a triangle between Setsuna, Makoto, and Inori.

Moogy comments: And obviously I couldn’t leave this one out even though it’s not an eroge. I made a 50 minute podcast about this one so go ahead and listen to that if you want my full commentary. Otherwise I’ll just say that this is a milestone game for the industry and, if you like Nasu, at least, probably the best game to be released since 2010′s SubaHibi. Also it’s not voiced and fairly short and the first game in a trilogy and nearly full-price so a lot of people are butthurt over it still but don’t listen to them they’re retards. It’s definitely worth the price. The box itself is really cool too.

can't tell you, just started. I'm going after the tsundere.

The only other trap game I played was Pure My Imouto Milk Purun which, while cute, frustrated me to hell for 2 reasons.

1. The 'girls' didn't know they were boys. Their parents taught them that some girls have penises. They were absolutely clueless they were actually boys.

2. The main protagonist has sex with them BEFORE discovering they're boys. Yeah, figure that one out. Like, lowering their panties 'just enough' so he doesn't see their penises and jams it in their ass, this happened in all routes that I could tell.

That just disappointed me. At that rate they were just girls, you could ignore their penises and they were girls. I want the protagonist to know he's about to cross the line and decides he's too in love to care. If I'm going to hell, I want to know it.

This game's setup looks the same so far. I just started so I dunno how it'll turn out but I have a sneaky suspicion that these 'girls' don't know they're boys.

So if you liked Pure My Imouto Milk Purun you may not like my opinion anyway.

It's Nasu, you know what to expect. The characters and style are quite similar to what you see in FSN, except it's not as long and a bit slower since narration is more developed. It's a couple of battles in which the conceptual strength and origin of things used to fight is explained in detail, a lot of everyday life scenes that try to highlight the characters themselves as "people", a few infodumps about the setting (basic things that everyone knows already like what magi are or what's the difference between magic and sorcery). Soujuurou is kinda like a proto-Shirou in his naive selflessness, Aoko is like a proto-Rin in her pride and teasing side.
If you think how Nasu writes is stupid and pretentious, this game won't change your mind. If you like him despite his flaws, you'll love the game. If you don't feel strongly either way, it can still be an interesting game since you don't see the "animated book" approach that often.

The main reason I am not playing it is because it isn't a self contained story in one release. Although FHA and Kagetsu Tohya exist you can read Tsukihime and FSN fine without reading them later.

>> No.9014352

It just moves slower so it might be a polarizing factor, I guess. The overall motive is the interaction of Aoko and Alice with Soujuurou, intersparsed with Touko's attacks. Most fighting eroge are a lot more straight/direct in the plot delivery, while here it's just something in the background while the focus in on the characters.
I can see people disliking the style, especially if they don't like the characters (who aren't really that fresh/original), but I thought it was ok

To develop a bit.
I never really liked Nasu's writing but I didn't mind it in Tsukihime because everything about it felt pretty fresh at that time and I liked the overall story and mood.
And for FSN I liked the concept, thematic and I have to admit the action development (especially in HF) made my blood boils.

Mahoyo though doesn't have those, well chapter 5 is an exception action wise but its overall concept is bland and generic, there is no real story or overall thematic to speak of and even the final just felt stupid rather than awesome or badass

I guess I'm late to the party here, but I just finished Futsuno Fantasy demo.
The game had me laughing throughout most of the chapters. The demons really have it bad in the old JRPG.
The heroines were pretty good, though the ones that seem to have the most potential in terms of development are probably Hisui and Libra. I hope the writer will touch upon and expand Hisui's back story.
The ending was probably what set this game apart for me. I wonder how the actual game will pick up where the demo ends. Perhaps the party will seek a way to save the world without killing the Demon King? I hope they have an ending where you can kill the Goddess and become the new God.

What amused me most was that the characters kept going about saving the world and whatnot.
But it's not like the world was in danger or something, the world was pretty peaceful.
I mean Jade is the maou, this guy has more common sense and feel more "human" than most humans you see during the story, it's not like he could do anything bad.

Considering everything that is said about inconsistency, flags and others, I think the goddess just created the world literally as a game and gave the demons the bad role just because.

Jade's monologue about how the Goddess would create the Demon race just to be sealed by them was hilarious. Whoever wrote the scripture in this game ought to take a leaf from the Bible.

The game didn't state it, but I wonder if the Hero-Demon King cycle has been going on for a while now, or has it only started since the Goddess was sealed? She's pretty much true boss material at this rate.

Finally got out of my VN-less slump by blazing through the second Higanbana. I didn't like it as much as the first one, partially because R07 already had to repeat some plotlines from the first game (just compare chapters 1-1 and 2-4 and tell me the difference between them). At least he understands that and pokes some fun at it in the epilogue. Overall, it was a nice experience once again, with great music and likable characters. And, again, I wish it wasn't so underrated because of Umineko.

But I'm pissed that they gave him a small dick, why do they keep giving NTR protags a small dick. There's especially no point to it for this game since heroines can only be NTR'd if you didn't fuck them.

I didn't really like NTR parts. They all follow the same pattern: get raped -> get addicted to the dick. Not to mention most of the HCGs are unerotic. Well the surprise NTR during the prologue was pretty fappable but I'm really pissed that it's unavoidable.

The heroines are pretty likable but I didn't like how they get broken in so easily, especially the princess.

All in all, it's pretty fun. Aside from the unavoidable NTR during the prologue, all the others are avoidable. Shame there's no NG+ bonuses and the prologue which is pretty long is unskippable so replaying the game is kinda tedious.

It was pretty hilarious at how often they kept bringing up his dick was small. I get it game everyone else is bigger than him you don't need to keep reminding me.

I was disappointed at how only one side could turn the heroines against you while the rest didn't do anything since Makura was making it sound like any side could do it.

It was also pretty shitty at how only one heroine had a ero scene with the protagonist while the others ones just cut to black.

The NTR scene in the prologue had to be done or else the protagonist would have looked like a asshole for going after other women when he had a fiance, It was pretty sad when you got her back and she was broken.

I agree that the gameplay was pretty fun and I know it was a NTR game, but I would have liked some non-NTR content.

Overall it wasn't bad, but I liked 退魔戦士彼女 more.

How can a creature as cute and lovable like Kaho exist?
Though I'm kinda surprised at how short the individual route was. Also, is there an option to change the heroine's hairstyle/text/clothing asides from picking choices in-game?

Wished they made it avoidable in 2nd playthrough and beyond.
Well at least she got her sense back and managed to move on.
Meanwhile the other heroines still long for the enemy's dick if you got them back after they changed sides. Except for Dona, she didn't really break, it's sad what happened to her though.

>I agree that the gameplay was pretty fun and I know it was a NTR game, but I would have liked some non-NTR content.
Strongly agree. I would like proper hscenes with the protag and more dialogue and story. There's very little story after the prologue.

It wasn't too bad but it could have been better.
I think it kind of lost itself in its chuuni setting without delivering the awesome.
The setting itself is interesting but padded with too much stuffs that don't get enough development, the writer obviously wanted to create a grand setting similar to the Nasuverse (lot of similarity between the two) but one title just isn't enough time to explore it well.

From the same writer I liked Harukuru better but it was still a nice read, people who like modern fantasy settings like Tsukihime/FSN will probably like it too.

In any case the game is only made by one dude so you can't expect too much out of it in terms of content. I'm surprised by the system he put in there as it is.

Actually there are a couple of surprise NTR if you recruited certain chars and stationed them in the same place as the heroines. The Leane ones are the best, mostly because it's started consensual and not rape.

I finally got around to reading Planetarian a couple of months ago, then I read Hoshizora no Memoria since it had just gotten translated and it looked like it had nice art. Then I just recently read Nanatsuiro Drops, which featured a planetarium and talked about the stars and Tanabata. I swear I didn't plan it this way.

My favorites.

Harakano. Your mother acts like a 6 year old child. She's practically incapable of taking care of herself and is often drunk. It's no surprise that her thought process is along the lines of 'I want to fuck my son, he's cute'. Her attitude also rubs off on her daughter. If you imagine such immature people exist it's not a stretch to think their attitudes about fucking family members can also exist. I found it endearing.

Hatsukoi. Your sister has a crush on you. I actually went to college with a girl who admitted to me that she had a crush on her brother. She actually broke down in tears that the only man she wanted was the only one she couldn't have. It happens far more often than I think people want to admit.

That said, your sister has a crush on you. When you decide it's ok for you to have a crush on her as well .... reality happens.

Clover Point. A new girl comes to your school. She attaches herself to you pretty quickly, this makes some of the other girls around you a bit jealous. If you choose her (there's only 1 choice in the game and it's literally 'what girl do you want) AFTER you end up a couple and start having sex with her she finally admits that she's your biological sister.

This is actually a real condition called Genetic Sexual Attraction and happens in individuals separated at an early age.

>> No.9030758

Musume Shimai. You're an otaku pervert who masturbates to pictures of your estranged daughters. You end up losing your job and moving back home. Your wife is away on business. Guess how long it takes before you're sexually abusing them?

The first daughter it's a bit realistic. She wants bigger boobs. You tell her, 'if a guy you like feels up your boobs they'll grow' it's some sort of old wives tale of Japan or something. She complains that you're her father, 'what, you don't like me?' She gives in. You feel up her boobs, it escalates from there. She puts up with you touching her because it feels good. After awhile she can't take it anymore and begs you to just fuck her already. You can get her pregnant.

Second daughter likes giant robot anime and super sentai shows. You convince her to 'act out' super robot/hero shows by doing things like stomping on your dick. It escalates from there when she discovers a dildo in your room (you bought it to use on her) and she asks what it's for. You say it's for putting in your ass to make you feel good so she shoves it in YOURS.

She becomes more and more abusive. Molesting you in public, forcing you to lick her feet, peeing on you, it starts to become borderline rape as you beg for her to stop and she continues to abuse you.

It's not exactly realistic but it's hot as fuck. You can get her pregnant too.

>> No.9030761

Since we left reality already. Inraku no Ketsuzoku. You go home since your father died. You've been having dreams about fucking your sisters. Your mother comes to your room and says, 'you've been having dreams about fucking your sisters haven't you?' You try to deny it but she says 'don't lie to me, I know you do, it's your family curse' She doesn't care who, either with herself, one of your sisters, or your aunt but you WILL get one of them pregnant or she'll kill you.

Sound completely unrealistic? It is. You find out your mother isn't your mother at all, she's your grandmother and she's a demon. She has to feed on the life force of people with demon blood to stay alive on Earth. Having her children and grand children fuck each other and get the girls pregnant keeps the demon bloodline strong.

It's dark and twisted and although demons aren't real, if they were, the story isn't all that much of a stretch.

I enjoyed it.

Read that. Same problem as Miboujin Sanae, maybe even more. The moral aspect of incest is completly cut off. The only drama happened the moment your sister found out that you are fucking their mother. But it evolves into thin air after a short discussion with a congratulation. What the fuck, man. Well, the art style is good and the h-scenes are kinda hot. So it wasn't completly worthless. Still, Swaneye games arr rook same. Finished harumade kururu, an enjoyable ride all the way through indeed.
Especially the humor worked really well for me.

The only thing I didn't like was how long mystery parts were always followed by long explanation parts, instead of mixing it up a bit,
and also, I'm still not sure if I had made it throught the prologue if I hadn't read about it, which would've been a pity.

And maybe I just didn't get everything, but it feels like there's a few questions left open:
- The clock incident supposedly happened by injecting mafuyu with the powder and waiting for the "system" to turn it back, but shouldn't that only happen after the 3 months? If not, wouldn't that mean all sorts of things would recover / replenish all the time?
- How did the nano-memory-thing in kazuki's brain activate? Did that happen automatically when fuyune died? (and is it even plausible that fuyune never died once before?)
- Why did the girls act completely out of character near the point he was getting crazy? I know he was supposed to make an effort that things don't repeat to often, but a complete change of personality?
- How did AA control random computers if there was no network of any sort?
- That probably was explained, but how / when exactly were the rocket's that moved the earth built?
- Why did they emerge in place full of japanese cherry trees if the station was supposedly somewhere between pakistan and india?
- In the end, in what way exactly was kazuki "broken", besides the facial expression problem?

I feel like there were probably more things, but that's about all that comes to mind right now.

>- How did AA control random computers if there was no network of any sort?
Because FUTURE and it was a satellite.
>- That probably was explained, but how / when exactly were the rocket's that moved the earth built?
They were built for that purpouse a fuckton of years prior, but they never used them because of moral implications and in the end no one else was left
>- Why did they emerge in place full of japanese cherry trees if the station was supposedly somewhere between pakistan and india?
It wouldn't feel like a japanese graduation/beginning without them, they didn't need actual logic.
>- In the end, in what way exactly was kazuki "broken", besides the facial expression problem?
He was easily swayed by emotions I think, if basically like in Akio's route where she confesses, he just accepts it and assumes he loved her, without giving any reason.
Fuyune exemplifies this with his idea of
>maybe I'm a killer
right at the beginning of every route.

Fuyune's route in general was the main reason I for my long mystery / long explanation complaint. It really dumbfounded me how nothing happened at all and suddenly infodump
But I guess looking at the story as a whole, it was probably just as needed as the prologue to make things feel complete.
And Shizuka's route felt a bit like "alright, let's fix everything with magics now!" after that.
I think in retrospect I liked Harumi's and Akio's routes best. Though, for some reason Harumi's felt like it was full of sexual tension with way too few sex scenes, especially the night when she invites kazuki out for a walk. Or maybe that's just me awakening to some sort of weird masochism / guro fetish.

But it's not like she new everyone from the very beginning right? I don't think people knew Harumi might go batshit when they put her in there, so it feels like chances Fuyune might've gotten killed a few times in the beginning should be quite high.
>Because FUTURE and it was a satellite.
Well, you can explain a lot of things with future and magics, but that's not really satisfying. It was said multiple times that there was no wireless networking capability whatsoever in place.
>They were built for that purpouse a fuckton of years prior
Did they say that? As far as I remember humans had no time for that shit because they were busy killing each other as soon as the ice age started, and I can't believe they'd build a huge (and costly) mechanism like that just for shit and giggles before that happened.
>kazuki stuff
Well, the emotion thing is true, I guess, though I'm not sure if that qualifies as "broken" in my eyes. His self-blame and sacrifice traits just seem like depression symptoms at best.
His dull reactions to pain might go through, but those also feel more like a biological problem due to their incomplete creation process.

Something is weird about Mahooy there.
Why does it have 75,304 Push points making it far and away the best selling VN of the year yet "only" 1949 TG points.
I thought TG and Push calculated the sales the same way.
And the getchu ranking seem to go the way of TG

>> No.9035975

Finished VenusBlood Frontier for the first time, chaos route.
The game went full retard story-wise in the last chapter.
But gameplay-wise it's the strongest VB, it's actually challenging unlike the others.
For the characters, they were all kind of forgettable, Odin in particular was a bit disappointing.
Ero-wise it's same old, typical tentacle action.

Game went full retard a lot more before the final chapter, imo.

I can't imagine what they were thinking by making the protagonist a strategist, put in a character that one ups him at every turn which really makes you want to get the satisfaction of eventually beating him once, and then... it never happens. It's like they went out of their way to make it unsatisfying.

Then they even tried to make an emotional moment out of his death. You've got to be kidding me.

And of the course the entire thing about hurrr Surt is in my mom's body. Awful villain.

At least the final chapter had a villain that kind of made me want to smash her face in.

Also I think the ero is getting weaker and weaker. Once upon a time I actually fapped to the first game. At this point I'm just skipping past it. Though maybe that's just because I'm getting more desensitized to this stuff

I'm kind of new to VNs, which are good? I liked Katawa Shoujo, True Remembrance, Planetarian, Saya no Uto and Narcissu, but i didn't like the devil on g-string or whatever it was called.

some time ago that kind of response would have been the norm, not the oddity.

Learn the rules before posting you retards, /jp/ is for japanese VNs, translated and not.
/vg/ is for western VNs like Katawa Shoujo.
The guy didn't ask for western VNs, he just wanted something not too japanese, which means translated.
But no, you shitposters think you own this fucking place so fuck the police, fuck the rules, this is your secret club and everybody's opinions isn't worth shit and rules are for losers, let's just enforce your bullshit by being rude and stupid.
