Ever notice how slow /jp/ feels these days?

There's nothing to post about anymore.

That alternative costume looks familiar.

How was /jp/ like back in the day?

It'll pick up when Touhou 14 comes out. Or 13.x, which ever comes first.

>> No.8969160

/jp/ is actually one of the fastest boards on the site but NSJ deletes 98% of all posts within 5 seconds of them being made

I think it has a lot to do with the community.

>>8969160

Dirty lie.

>> No.8969174

I don't see how that is a problem.
Fun things are fun, and it's easier to take it easy when you can take it slow.

I think because people have to make new threads every 10 minutes because their old ones get deleted.

No, if anything it's faster than ever with more shitposting is the cause.

Wrong also

It eventually becomes a problem when a board out-discusses all the fresh topics at more than tenfold rate. It only takes so long for the "consumption" to catch up with the ideas for topics.
i.e. Everything has been and will be discussed to death.

which 2hu wud u fuq?

>> No.8969267

It gets slow, so people leave, making it slower, making more people leave...

It won't last much longer.

>> No.8969268

I miss the Type Moon powerlevel discussions. /vg/ and /a/ took everything except Touhou.

>> No.8969270

the NSJ deletes all of the good threads, so all we have left are the boring ones nobody cares about.

>> No.8969271

>>8969267
False. Some people will never leave. At least not until only the spambots remain, anyway.

Ever since Moot made a bunch of changes to the boards, /jp/'s just kinda been super shitty. I mean, it was shitty before, but it's not the same anymore...

I am of the opinion that /jp/ is in dire need of an user ID implementation, much like the one its Japanese equivalents have. That would reduce the amount of situations in which damage control measures taken by the staff would be needed, methinks.

>> No.8969325

Okay let's look at the front page:
>spoonfeed me plz
>meta troll thread
>touhou
>dumb japanese bullshit w/ no replies as OP pic
>shitposting general
>meta troll thread
>spoonfeed me translations
>Kigurumi

>> No.8969352

This board was pretty much made for Touhou and its hijacks.
VNs and other forms of otaku culture (or Japan/general related) were merely included to keep it a bit more lively.

Let's face it, this is a trash bin board like /mlp/.

>> No.8969360

>>8969352
But I like this trash bin.
I mean, it might be trash, but it's our trash.
And it's much better than pretty much all other boards in this website right now.

>> No.8969378

The good posters all left for /a/, so now all the left are trolls and the dregs of old /jp/. /m/ has the same problem.

I haven't posted in one of thous in a long ass time. They have no need for an old man like me anyway.

>> No.8969405

It's just another die off phase. There's an intermittent cycle of oldfriends fading away quietly and an influx of new and the most egregious shit posters, eg Homura spammers, from other boards and repeating the oldfriends history. There are outliers living well beyond their expected lifespan but they're rare.

>> No.8971933

/jp/ is dead as a board these days. Most active discussions that are still within the sphere of the "community" are the dozens of IRC channels on Rizon, while the board remains a place for less serious stuff.

Those who aren't into the IRC thing have moved on, either to /a/, /bun/ or /tc/.

It's not so much that it's shitposting causing the board to feel slower, but that shitposting is all we have left because we've discussed everything already. Unless a new game of the month comes out or the Fumo threads and similar get full, the only other posting is shit.
