You're reducing the delay to something the game wasn't programmed to handle. While it may work out fine for some connections, it will absolutely destroy others, so it's really a hit or miss thing. I've found it works well if you're playing someone with a low ping and a VERY stable connection (since the game is already bad at handling jitters).

>> No.8905519

>>8905459
I can at least say that with rev1.2, the tool was absolutely necessary to play the game at all.

The netplay was worse than the initial netplay of vanilla Ougon was otherwise.

8/10 games were locked in 0-5 FPS without it. Even if it made no sense whatsoever giving the ping or whatnot.

In fact, some relatively local connections that should have been great, and that had great ping were locked in the 0-5 FPS status without it. Even though some considerably worse overseas connections with double or third times as much pings made do without falling into abysmal FPS (albeit an exceedingly rare thing).

Mauve's tool fixed that though.
Honestly, not hacked the netplay has been so shit that I am honestly delighted that I didn't pre-order this that I very much so was about to.

I don't know if Rev 1.3 fixed this officially. But that was some pretty awful netplay the game shipped with.

I never had this problem at all. In fact, almost no connection worked without it. Haven't encountered a single game where things could be improved by disabling it though.

Yo /jp/, started this game just recently, and I'm wondering if there's more to it than arcade / netplay.

Also, what is the trainer and how do you use it? Is it worth anything? I'm running the mbacctool.exe when I play, but I'm not quite sure if I'm doing everything right either, since I always get an error when I try to netplay.

You can't use the matchmaking servers with the crack, just direct connections, if that's what you're trying. No survival modes or trials, but you could go for 1CC runs with different characters on the hardest difficulty if you need to kill time in 1P and are not serious about training.

>> No.8905636

>>8905626
Ah, thanks. I've been wondering about that, but it seems you've cleared it up.

I'm not too worried about getting particularly good or training hard at the moment, as I'm still deciding who to main. It's pretty tough since I have to cycle through each of the different moons as well as all the character combinations.

>> No.8905668

>>8905519
Yes, the netplay was, and is still complete trash. However, I never had the 0-5 FPS problem with anyone so I can't comment about the tool's use to fix that. I wasn't even aware it did anything except re-calculate delay.
I'd have to say Ougon vanilla was just as bad as this though, but at least you could choose the delay in that.

>> No.8905675

You post just reminded me of something.

Now I know that there are several routes for each character and some of them (like Ries) can be accessed by just playing through their arcade mode. But I noticed when I finished Nanaya and Kouma's arcade mode the first time, they both lock into the route where they fight each other as end bosses. What's up with that? Is there anyway to play through the original arcade route again?

Also, if I recall correctly, H-Ryougi doesn't have good air-to-ground or ground-to-air game. You should approach airborne enemies from the air and grounded enemies from the ground. Also you have insanely long-ranged normals, so take advantage of that.

Well I don't know a single thing about M.Hisui, but the thing I noticed most was your vulnerability to overheads. When you see moves like Tohno's 6[B] or Hisui's 6C>6[C], be sure to either block high or mash out of it. To be honest I was able to get a random hit in while you were in a blockstring pretty easily, so I guess you just need to get used to blocking.

Your zoning with M.Hisui could be better as I didn't have that much trouble getting in most of the time. Unfortunately I don't know what to suggest for improvement there. Melty Bread or mizuumi could probably explain what you should be doing.

Also, be sure to get a couple more combos down. I managed to get randomly hit a few times, but you weren't really able to follow it up.

Hope that all helps.

Well, if I do it on oki it will whiff due to throw invul. I have to delay it slightly. You can mash out with 2a or a DP if you see it coming, but of course that's risky. Jumping might work if you do it fast enough, but I can grab you out of the air if you're low to the ground. If you're not in the corner just backdash. You should backdash more, period. It has full invulnerability in AACC.

Thanks for the games.

As for improving your neutral game, I felt that you had yet to fully understand your normals. You also seemed to throw them out whenever in an attempt to zone. Try to place them meaningfully, and not leave yourself open. Work on your maneuverability and try not to jump too much.

Your pressure was decent, but could be a lot tighter with some reverse beats. Don't rely too much on the unblockables, they'll get you into trouble later on. Likewise with what I said about the understanding your normals, you link some unsafe moves in your blockstring. I'd look out for that.

I'm a terribly indecisive person/ Not looking for anyone to make my decision for me, but just any info that would help me make a more informed decision would be good. so I'm trying to learn this real basic combo on C-Tohno:
2aa 2b(1hit) 5c 2c 5b 6b j.bca sdj.bc airthrow
but I can't get it to work consistently
usually; most of the time one of the air hits whiffs (not always the same one, but usually the first j.b or j.c.) or I'm too far for the airthrow. so obviously I'm doing something wrong

I found your defense pattern and exploited it. You either mash a or block and don't risk an attack. Knowing this, I could mash 2a on your wake up, if hit>combo, if not hit>dash and throw.

Also, you always go for the meaty, mashing WLen's 2a prevented me from DPing but it didn't with Tohno.

>> No.8932361

What I do is
(2a) 2c 5bb (superjump) j.bc sdj. bc airthrow

If block, use 2c 5bb and any of:
214a
22a
22d

While 5b 6b allows for an oki, I find it's not worth it if you know how the player will act on wake up

>> No.8932414

Sorry, I got a phone call.

>You either mash a or block and don't risk an attack.
What is an "attack" if A isn't one? I was using 2a, 5b, and 2b, even if they didn't always work.

>Also, you always go for the meaty, mashing WLen's 2a prevented me from DPing but it didn't with Tohno.
It might just be that I have awful timing, but I was mashing 2a every time you DPed when I was WLen. Is it possible for me to 2a and beat your DP without clashing and getting knocked up into a combo, or is that not how the move works?

>I could mash 2a on your wake up, if hit>combo, if not hit>dash and throw.
There were quite a few times when I either messed up the timing or my input was dropped, so your grab went through even when I intended to mash through it.

As for you, I would suggest you block more often instead of trying gimmicky things with shielding, learn Tohno's proper combos instead of only using your superjump combo that drops all pressure when it ends because you land 10 feet away, and use more overheads in your blockstrings. I was in a conversation those last few WLen matches, so my predictability may have partly been because I was occupied. Also, how exactly does Tohno's Arc Drive work? I wasn't exactly sure how to avoid it, although jumping seemed to work sometimes.

You mean invincible. It's only unblockable in the air, but if they're putting a 2A over you as you wake up they can't recover fast enough to block so you get to DP for free on wakeup.

There's nothing you can do about wakeup DP except bait it, which doesn't really work since the baits are obvious.

The end result is that you don't get much if any wakeup game against characters with meterless DPs that are invincible from the 1st frame.

Also fairly new to the game, and I'm really digging F-Aoko. I love the ball setups/zoning, but I find myself having a lot of trouble dealing with corner pressure (the only guy I know who plays mains V.Akiha). Mashing flash kick doesn't seem to help much. I can usually do decently against him if I can keep him out, but up close I can't seem to do much. Also, I'm told to do mixups in the middle of blue fire, but is that sort of thing corner only? They seem to get pushed out pretty far when I try it midscreen. Mixups in general are a bit of a problem for me too. In the timer it takes to charge a 4(c) I'm already getting slapped around.

FGG wasn't much help, maybe you guys can give me a hand with a Melty issue. I'm getting kind of a weird error. Whem I try to use my stick (cthulhu ps3/pc pcb) on the main menu, it'll rapidly slide through all the modes. The face buttons just stop the scrolling and I can use the confirm button to go into a mode. But then when I get into training mode, everything works perfectly. No sliding on the character select screen, in-match inputs follow what I actually do. This error isn't happening with my friend's eightarc stick. Any clue what's going on?

That's the best thing to do. Honestly, if you can find an offline partner, even better. I main F-Aoko and all I did was sit in training mode practicing a couple bnb's, but when I started playing my friend who knows the game I started to actually get the hang of how to player her: ball setups, zoning, air footsies, and all that. At first all I did was dash in and try to land my bnb's, but after that failed horribly I got the picture of how to effectively control space and look for opportunities. As long as you know your bnb's and a general idea of what you should be doing with your chosen character (stuff you can find on Melty Bread/mizuumi wiki), just play.

I don't really know shit about pressure, so can someone help me understand the purpose of charged overheads/unblockables in pressure?
I can see the use in partially charging them for staggering a blockstring, but is a fully charged normal really ever going to land on someone decent at the game?
