doesnt danbooru make you pay

Danbooru is the high class, up to date site to use

if you're not a poor fuck and can pay a measly 20 bucks, you can get a premium account to view loli and shota amongst other features (or just get the script to view it without getting an account OR just make a fucking pixiv account already)

gelbooru is the shady, dirty brother who deals drugs and sleeps with hobo women

a.k.a. they just steal pics from danbooru, use the same tags, and upload shitty 3D renders and bad photoshops

The one that's free as in beer.

I don't understand why people use Danbooru. Gelbooru is the same thing, except you can search multiple tags and view loli and shota.

I'm pretty elitist and enjoy art for more than just fap material, so I could never stand using the "secondary" site (especially when they lack any sort of quality control or translations) that is Gelbooru, so I use Danbooru.

Danbooru for translations or when I want to search for specific material. If I'm interested enough in an artist I'll stalk their site, their Pixiv, their everything, and also Danbooru for making sure I don't miss something.

Why do people still try to put one over the other, both have ups and downs and only a retard would try to call one superior to the other.

One of them is free, with some ads that you can change if you make an account.
The other requires 20 bucks to let you view loli/shota or search for more than two tags.

I guess the answer is obvious.

Gelbooru is better because you can sort by score.

I prefer danbooru because they have translations and better tagging. Danbooru has a 2 tag limit though and they make you log in to view loli which I do not like.

Gelbooru is shit at tagging they cannot translate and their ads are annoying but everything is free to view even without an account so it's useful for something.

Gelbooru once you've grown beyond your 'zomg porn on the internet' phase. I NEED more than two tags to search for images I like, and danbooru filters out anything that isn't a mainstream fetish (plus loli and shota). Sure, gelbooru doesn't host everything either, but at least it has more diverse material than danbooru.

Being as familiar as I am with Gelbooru's loli tag, I think I can say that danbooru has almost the exact same content. Gelbooru's tagging has also gotten much better over the last couple years. It's not like you can't add tags either.

And if you block ads you don't have to deal with gelbooru's annoying ads. You can even change the intermission adds to pop-under ads in your account settings (you a fake email retards).

The only reason I go to either over pixiv is because of translations, and in that regard, Danbooru is better.

Maybe it's just Chroma, but neither of those scripts allow me to see loli or shota - the page shows me that there are 140 pages of shota, but no images show up.

Danbooru, I use the loli script so that's no problem. I also like reading translations and Gelbooru pretty much has nobody translating there. Danbooru is also far better tagged in general.

Also searching two tags is all you need really. I don't think I've come up with a need to search more than two unless specifically trying to hunt down a specific picture. If I'm searching for a general range of pictures more often than not I simply use a single tag for what I'm searching and another tag for score.

And for wanting to read translated things of a specific series or character you only need two tags, one for the series or character and another for translated.

When i want easy modo and am looking for a certain picture, i use gelbooru.

I like Danbooru best, but Gelbooru is okay too.

Pixiv would beat them both if I could read/type moon a lot better than I can now.
