Not exactly. You get a general sense of the board's demographic even if there are no names attached. Still, /jp/ is some kind of trend-setter. Even if we deny it, some of us pass the word around. And those who don't end up talking about the subject on the board. Other people catch a glimpse of it and will pass the word around. Not everyone has the pirating knowledge /jp/ has, and some are morally against piracy.
