The 3d graphics are PS2 level but the CG looks pretty nice (and it's high res).

Well, that's what you have to expect when playing almost every Japanese game ever. They have great artists but when it comes to programming/3D...
Not that I care, though. As long as it has nice 2D CG I'm happy.

Just finished Xillia a few weeks ago, my thoughts are it is a so-so Tales game. I did not feel it was rushed more so than it was short and extremely linear. Combat was ok, the link system was kinda neat, but I felt it swinged from enemies constantly ebign able to break out of combos to link combos absolutely destoying. Characters were pretty likable, but it missed a lot of previous Tales staples.

So I would go with Vesperia, as that has bonus content (haven't played it yet)

If you like rail shooters then I recommend it.
It has many neat mechanics that makes it pretty unique just from a game point of view.

Things I'm going to import
Mahjong Dream Club C - because /jp/ made me love mahjong the two summers we were constantly playing and the lack of summer /jp/ mahjong makes me sad

Aquapazza - because I get to use sexy sexy Touka in a fighting game, which I might be terrible at but will try my hardest to be mediocre

Last game I imported:
Mahjong Taikai IV - it's okay AI cheats to high heavens though

Another Century Episode R - Friend raves about the ACE series, says it's the best ever and that everyone should play it. Finally order a copy and tell him about it, "Why would you pick up that one it's the worst in the series it almost made me hate giant robot games" Payment goes through right before I can cancel it : (

I am hopeful it will not be as bad as I fear.

What I was about the import but localization was announced:
Pokemon: Conquest, One Piece Pirate Warriors, Ni no Kuni, Witch and the hundred nights and that other one err I mean this>>8927591. At least I think that last one got announced.

How is moemoe daisenryaku? Is it a turn based closer to the SRW series or is it more like Japan's attempt at making a Real Time Strategy turn based?

I only ever played the PSP version for like 10 seconds at a demo stand during an anime convention before some lovely person elbowed in and made them switch to Ikki tousen. That was enlightening.

>>8929121
In a sense, it is closer to SRW. However, it is much closer to compare it with games such as Nectaris or Civilization (only the combat system). However, as someone who has played te non-moe moe Daisenryaku, I was a bit disappointed that they removed practically all of the "strategy" elements that saturated the older Daisenryaku games. That is to say, for me, the price for cute girls being cute war machines was too steep. Then again, it you're just after simple gameplay anyway, that's probably what you want. It's just that I felt betrayed when I expected the usual complicated shit like terrain mods, surround, multiple flight levels, fuel consumption, supply lines, etc. etc. etc. that I've come to love from the Daisenryaku games.

>> No.8929764

>>8929443
Well I guess that's both good and bad, I rather like SRW and if it has similar gameplay that's definitely a boon since I'll loosely know what's going.
It's bad because if it changed from the formula too much it might not be as good as games from the other series. Although I never played the other series, so there's that.

I might pick it up when it hits THE BEST pricing though, because memories of playing 3 different SRW without a proper translation still haunt me to this day.

Moe moe daisensou is pretty cool.
You can pick between 3 campaigns: Middle eastern campaign, Vietnam campaign and World War 3.
These are basically 3 completely stand alone stories.
The game is like a VN broken up between various mini-games.

The battles are turn based, none-grid based.
Three basic unit types, air, ground and sea.
Each girl has two regular attacks and a special attack with various properties.
When you level up you get a few points that accumulate.
You can level up basically everything.
Their range, their damage, accuracy, special abilities etc and with max level 50 means that there are potentially lots of different paths you can choose depending on your strategy.
Also when the girls take damage, their clothes fall off.

After a battle you can play a little repair minigame where you fix any damage the girls have taken (all the while they're moaning and telling you how ticklish their cannon is or how perverted you are for touching their wings etc).

Then after that you can choose which girls to interact with post-battle, similar to home base phase in koihime musou.

It's a lot more dialog heavy than I expected and I don't find the dialog all that funny or cute but that may be because my Japanese isn't that good.
Many times I find myself just skipping ahead to get to the next battle.

Overall it's ok, but of my three purchases this is perhaps my least favorite one.

This is the anon the one you're replying to was replying to; I must have played a different version of the game, since the available scenarios are simply different points of views on WWII.
