I wish to build an n64 collection. I wish nintendo still manufactured their old consoles and occasionally their own cartridges-I know that makes no sense, but it would be so cool to be able to buy brand-new, vintage consoles at the store still.

Emulators are cool, but, I like the whole experience when it comes to consoles.

But you know, N64 controllers break down so quickly, they could make money still selling those during limited runs.

I bought a cheap chinese version that is still made and sold, and it's actually a pretty good controller for 12 dollars-and the stick doesn't seem like it's going to wear out anytime soon, it's basically just a ps2 analogstick.

I'm guessing soon. I thought Pat might release 14 once Linux 3 went stable but you never know. Not that it really matters when the next version comes out... you use slackpkg with slackware-current, right? It's all stable and secure if you do that. Version number is just a game.

Something I recommend is blacklisting the kernel in /etc/slackpkg/blacklist but it shouldn't cause you many problems not to do so... what kinds of problems did you have, anyway?

I don't have a purpose for it. I don't program anymore, I don't need a machine to manage media on my TV, and I don't travel. I thought it might be cool to make it naively execute gameboy ROMS, but I know I'd never follow through with that project. It'd just sit in a corner of my room, despite being very neat in principle.
