Are main ones I see usually linked about the place, never had any experience with using a proxy myself apart from people like Tokyohunter using his store. They should be pretty self explanatory in the FAQs, so you shouldn't need a guide.

I've used Tokyohunter, SMJ, crescent/noppin, Kuboten, and some random Japanese guy who advertised on 4chan (no seriously, I did). They've all come through but at various price points and fees.

It's like owning a painting. Some twats buy painting purely because it will look good in a certain decor, while others buy it because the painting is actually really good and they love to look at it, even if it clashes with the rug or some other shit like that.

According to their sales and the number of variations, it is extremely common for people to buy figurines of the character Saber, from Fate:Stay/Night. Looking at the figurine, you don't think they give a little nod, a bit of a smile on their face, thinking things like "Oh Saber, self-sacrifice for others even in the face of their betrayal... what a beautiful ideal.", or muse on some more basic element of her character that they enjoy, and feel like has brought her closer to their heart?

Reality might be worthless in an internet discussion like this, but figures (numerical ones, sorry for the unnecessary ambiguity) are not.

There are cute figures of Rika because people are in love with her cuteness, there are strong and resolute looking figures of Saber because they are in love with her strength and resolution, and so on, and so on.

I mean, not knowing why people buy figures is one thing, but surely you don't think that the producers design and manufacture figure after figure for nothing, do you?

Now as a member of glorious /tg i am somewhat experienced painter but havent worked in this scale,the part i didnt understand is do these figures come painted? they say something about colored resin or something but they also say that you need to paint it.
If that is the case do i need to prime it with a spray primer and start working on it or can i start painting on the existing paint?

I have a Charagumin Lina Inverse, and it is mostly pre-colored, but there are a few spots that needed painting for extra interest (like the inside of her cape). You'll need to use a mold release agent first. I use rubbing alcohol for most models, but I bought some spray on stuff made by Wave and it worked well. Afterwards, I gave it a good wash. Once that is done you can paint directly on it with no trouble. You'll want to seal it afterwards, however.

What I found with charagumin is that they still have mold parting lines/flashing, so I had to work up to 2000 grit sandpaper to get them down without leaving scratches. Normally I could just spray some primer down and cover them up, but as the parts are precolored I don't really have that option.

Overall, Charagumin are pretty nice. Build with confidence.

Also, I think Griffonshit should be taken with a grain of salt. A few of them don't look terrible. I have a few gripes about my Flan, but she's not terrible or anything. That may be because she's my only figure so I have nothing to compare it too though.

My first figure was the 1/7 Griffon Sakuya, at the time I thought it was good but as I started to get more figures by better companies I realized how shitty and overpriced Griffon figures are.

As for who else makes Touhou figures... This is the main problem, there isn't really anyone apart from Griffon, which is why they can get away charging what they do. I mean if you really like a character and it's doubtful they'll get a figure from anyone else anytime soon then it's probably still worth buying, but otherwise I'd really advise against doing so.

I mean just compare the Ques Q Alice to the Griffon Alice, they cost more or less the same price and there is a massive difference in quality.

From my experience I don't think Griffon is bad. Its Just compared to other top brand figures that cost the same or even less.
