This thread made me remember my most recent birthday, I decided to celebrate it on a whim because I made friends with a person I was long hoping to be friends with. That friendship ended recently though. I don't think I'll be celebrating anything anymore.

I personally don't celebrate my birthday. My mom usually gives me money and a cake though, and online associates tend to notice because of website notifications.

Anyway, to answer your question, my last birthday I worked. Someone brought me a cake for some reason, but I really didn't go out of my way to celebrate it.

The year before that I also worked, but I finished just in time to catch closing time at the bar and was able to sit alone and have a pint.

I try to avoid my birthday if I can. No one seems to understand that though.
