I'm just starting to get into the whole Idolmaster thing. What is the relationship between Hoshii Miki and what's tagged as Awakaned Miki on the 'boorus?

Do they exist within the same continuity? Is one a past version of the other?

Each iDOLM@STER game takes place in its own continuity.
Awakened Miki was an alternate route that could be unlocked in iDOLM@STER 1 after completing at least one playthrough with Miki. If you do certain events in a certain order, the Producer and Miki get in a car accident (thanks to her), and the whole experience mindfucks her into altering her entire appearance and mental state, as a sort of twisted "apology" for nearly getting them both killed. Basically "I need to get my shit together. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT HAIRCUT". Oh, and brown is her natural color. Also, she wants to fuck.
