I just started playing Ren'ai, the only character I like are MC's brothers and Nokia (she is a riot) but I heard that Nokia's route is awful. How can the most entertaining heroine be part of the worst route? The other heroines seem awful, especially Sakuya, but they have better routes.

Finished Silhouette.
Kind of a mixed bag.
For one the game follow the same formula that G-senjou or SekaiDame meaning a big common route that easily take about 70% of the place.
And during that common route you will get the choice to enter a route at some specific interval.
Silhouette has 6 heroines, 3 are mains and actually relevant to the plot, the other 3 are just glorified side heroines.
The routes of these side heroines are garbage and don't bring anything to the plot, I would recommend to anyone who would try this to simply skip them.

Some other problems with Silhouette include the endless school scenes for the first 2/3 of the game, and the fact that the protagonist is pretty annoying, though there is a reason he is like this.

But it also has some good point, for one the main heroines are all pretty awesome, especially Maya that is basically the main focus of the common route, she makes the endless school scenes easier to go through though the protagonist being what he is doesn't make it easy.

And when the plot really start going during the last third the game actually gets pretty good.
The plot is strong and all the foreshadowings pay off, the last route, Kasumi, is also very good and easily the best part of the game.

So yeah, it's a mixed bag. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone but I do think the last part is very good.

I stalled Grisaia for quite a bit of time after having finished Amane's route, which I can't say I really liked, and I have now finished Michiru's.
Now, maybe, just maybe I kinda missed something, please bear with my rant: isn't a girl's route the story where you actually like the goddamn girl? This bothered me in Amane's too, like, how the protagonist just didn't care at least at first about the girl in any special way. But here, oh boy, they took this up to a new level. Firstly, you start a relationship with a DID. That's ok, you can do that. Then you play hard to get. And that's fine too. And then I realized he wasn't just retaliating against a tsundere, he was just not interested at all. The protagonist is the main cause of Michiru's breakdown. That's obvious, in the other route nothing ever happened to her if I recall correctly. You put up this -gokko shit for no apparent reason at all and you end up hurting her (gee I wonder why), making her think everything she has accomplished is fake. At last, when you send her to the hospital, you don't even walk her there. It's like "oh yeah, nice to have screwed you, now go to the asylum". What the actual fuck? You stay three day near her after having had this Tarantino idea of burying her alive to make her realize whatever. Who-hoa, that's really cool, main character guy, and when she's out and she says she likes you for the nth time, what do you say? Nothing. And in the end, pic related happens, if it was supposed to be funny, it's not. Well I'm astonished at how hard I got trolled. I seriously hope there is some kind of explanation to this bullshit.

Michiru's self-esteem collapses not because of Yuuji, but because she stops avoiding the fact of her other self, and is hurt by the realization that things have been going 'better' when she's not in control of her own body - including with Yuuji. This triggers her deep-seated feelings of worthlessness from her past and such.

Also, it becomes obvious by the end that Yuuji is just being a big man-tsundere, as he works hard to support Michiru in finding her will to live, and ultimately tells her loves her multiple times: the sex scene in the bath, the scene on the cliff after the credits.

You should read her After Route in Meikyuu, where he's a bit more straight-forward about his feelings.

Also, maybe it's because I read the routes in the order they show up (Makina, Amane, Sachi, Michiru), but Yuuji's attitude towards her didn't come to a huge surprise to me at that point. Especially in Makina and Sachi's routes you learn quite a bit about his character. Well, he still seems like an ass, but he has his own reasons / problems, and deep down he just wants Michiru to be able to help herself.

Well, he does come to love the girl near the end. It's pretty much like that in every route.
Amane's route went pretty much the same, actually. When they started "dating" he made it pretty clear he doesn't actually feel much for her yet but didn't mind going along with her being his girlfriend (but not being her boyfriend).

As stated somewhere above, it seems like there is more to his character development to be had in meikyuu, so maybe he'll seem a bit less like a jerk to that after you read it.
Or maybe reading Makina and Sachi's route will already help like it did for me.

I think I might actually like Michiru's route best in the whole game.

I've heard that before, and I think it's really a wrong example. This protagonist is not relationship retarded, he's just plain shit to the girls, like he doesn't even care "that much after all". Amane's route has a build up where he's attracted to her kindness but suspicious because of her weird aggressiveness towards him. Even with that cloud over their relationship, as he gets more attached to her warmth, he's seriously thinking about marriage and future careers to support her.

Once he finally understands the reasons behind her actions and her feelings towards him, he accepts her completely. It sort of seems sudden, because you've been reading that long flash-back, but it's coherent.

Yeah, I decided to post when after that bachelor bj scene because I've been burned just one too many times. At first the route I most look forward to (at least among heroines you initially know about) was tsukina, and she has it the worst, since usually the osananajimi always get burned. Is it more of a bonus route type thing, or more of a case of something that definitely should be read after all the other routes for whatever reason?

The concept is sort of silly, but it's been a pretty nice read so far.
I think I'm going to have major trouble deciding which route to play first because of the voice cast, and all the heroines have been pretty cute.

Does the imouto route in Akaneiro have a lot of drama, conflict, etc? I only want to read if its heavy on the drama and not just another one of the hundred boring imouto routes out there.

Is there some trick to get that Alpha Rom shit working for Material Brave? I copy AlphaDiscLog.txt into the installation folder and run alsignup but it doesn't do anything. Never experienced this method not working for any other game.

I don't know but nukige's VAs you can really tell they're quite bad during their regular lines. I believe VAs in general probably get paid shit anyways? All I remember is some story about some VA not even being able to pay her utility bills, but that could've been a sensationalized story.

my bad if I pissed you off dissing a VA you like. Yeah I exaggerated, but I played the game back when I still cared for ero. I guess it did trigger some unpleasant feelings because she was quite alright during regular voice work, but somehow I personally couldn't stomach her ero acting in that game, it was a sudden gap which left me disappointed.
