I'm applying for autism bucks on friday. Never done it before, but I'm going prepared with all my autism paperwork proof. Wish me luck, /jp/.

Also please share stories of how you first applied for autism bucks. It might help relieve the anxiety I am feeling.

Several in fact. It's mostly things an average /jp/sie suffers from. Eating disorders, impulse disorders, anxiety disorders, mood, etc.

I am waiting for the response to my application. Should be any week now. I don't know how they do it in your country but, it will most likely take some time and you might have to meet with the responsible authorities more than once.

Other than that, try to be clear and consistent when explaining your situation, but also try to include as much details as possible. If you know you might get nervous or forgetful, write everything down that you want to say on a list and bring it. In this case, many details about you everyday life might be important.

And bring any papers they might possibly want.

Ironically, in order to be considered disables you still need to be clear minded enough to handle these kind of situations. It put me off many times in the past, but try to keep fighting on. Good luck anon!

As someone with diagnosed depression (to the point of prescribed medication) and social anxiety, I can confirm that is not enough to get free money. Your disability must severely impair you from working.

I had been to several therapists and on various meds that didn't help. My general practitioner suggested that I apply for SSI, so I did. After applying, they paid for me to see a psychiatrist and he asked me a bunch of questions. After that, I waited six months or so for them to make their decision, and they approved me. I got a lump sum payment from the time I applied, which was a pretty nice bonus, and have received monthly checks since then.

Why not? The doctor said I can get some benefits if I apply for them. That's why I'm going in the first place.

I'm not getting money for just being retarded, I'm getting aid from the government to help me get better. Now I'm having a panic attack because I'm afraid they might make fun of me for asking.

I think that what >>8738353 means is that the diagnosis of depression and social anxiety isn't enough. If you are suicidal it might "help", but if think the idea is that severe depression usually ends in other diagnosis as well. In that case you need professional help to identify those. If you just tell them "my life sucks baaaaw" they won't approve you. You need to back it up with a lengthy medical record and proof.

From what I can read in >>8738338 you seem like you could get approved. But I can only base that on the assumption that the rules in your country are similar to mine, plus I don't know the details of your background. Stay calm, and WHATEVER you do, don't belittle your own problems or get scared that they won't be enough. That way you'll never get the money. You have to convince them that you need them, and that your problems are serious.

Since pedophila is a DSM-recognized mental disorder, can I receive welfare for being a pedophile? I truly think that as a pedophile, my capacity to work is severely limited by the fact I can't control myself if I'm within 100 feet of anyone under the age of 12.

Suicide attempts on my record, and my psych was even considering a recommendation for a mental clinic. That nearly gave me a heart attack so I went with the meds instead. It's much more serious than the "my life sucks" bullshit, but still not serious enough to get free money. It really all depends on crippling diagnosed problems, such as aspergers, schizophrenia, bipolar PD, etc. But at that point, it's safer and easier to send the patient off to a clinic. Also, if they can get in contact with a parent, they will try to confirm your problems before appropriating funds.

I don't live in a 3rd world shithole where unhealthy people are left for dead, but I have confidence that I will get some kind of help one way or another. And the easiest help to give is in the form of money.

I mean for real. Will they actually expect every citizen to be the same hardworking high intelligence high potential model person with zero problems? That would be nice, but it's not true. If the government isn't highly corrupt and can help its own people when there are problems, it would, wouldn't it?

They'll find any excuse not to give you autism money. Get an attorney to do your paperwork for you so you actually get it. There are firms that specialize in it that will do it for a percentage of your back-pay and nothing else.

Like what? If you leave these kinds of people alone, they end up resorting to crime and/or homelessness, adding to the overall shit quality of the country/state. More easily, readily treatable and people willing to go for treatment who only require a little aid for barely a fraction of their lifetime end up getting nothing and down the road, end up dead or imprisoned. Do they really live in modern society? I'm sure that kind of shit flies in uganda or random 3rd world shitholes where they'd rather buy more guns to kill you than help you, but in developed areas of the world that really shouldn't be the case. I'm not saying everybody should get free money, but turning away legitimate cases or just making it incredibly convoluted and stressful for someone just to save the government a few autism bucks is just strange to me.

I'd like to know what excuse they'd use to not help somebody in need.

It's the protestant work ethic basically.

Americans HATEHATEHATE the idea of someone getting a "free ride".

That's why we had big demonstrations in every major city for over a year, filled with people extremely angry that poor people might be able to get decent healthcare.

And mental healthcare? It doesn't exist.

You either need to "man up" or find jesus if you're crazy in the USA.

>> No.8738689

>>8738628
I agree with that, provided the person in question is highly unstable, a danger to himself and others or downright useless and has nowhere to go without literally dying in a ditch in his own shit and can't last a day without somebody watching him. Not everybody who needs help is like that or needs such extreme solutions. And again, not everyone is completely helpless and does fine without any help too. Should everyone be like this? That'd be great. Is everyone like that? No. Why? Because no place and nobody is perfect.

>>8738665
That only makes sense in a very short term view. All debts must be paid, right? If you help someone now, they will contribute back. If there are people who think it's unfair and say "well I never needed help", they should consider themselves blessed by the all-american almighty lord jesus that they never needed help.

There are those who abuse government aid and that's where most of the hate and criticism stems from. But it's unfair to assume everyone's out there to rob you.
