It's part of the plot against GUST threads. Our angry friend is trying to discredit them. It's probably this guy:

Better. Especially when you call someone ``retarded'' in the same post.

This is the proper thread. It's got the delicious copypasta that all these threads start with.

Except the other thread came first.

You know, other people are allowed to make threads. This "THEY'RE MY THREADS!!! I'M THE GUY WHO MAKES THEM!!!! LOOK AT MY TRIPCODE!!!!!!" thing is childish, like a kid who can't get his own way.

>> No.8699700 [DELETED]

Well no, the difference is that we the frequent posters in the Gust threads accept this thread as the "real" one -
simply due to the fact that the other one is a lame attempt of trolling us.

So he should just delete it,
because the Gust fans will still use this thread as always,

While his is simply pure cancerous spam.

>> No.8700004

I want to thank the poster in the other thread for the flow chart.

The project has only one story/setting, with 2 music CDs plus a piano arrange CD, 1 drama CD, and some MADs. Maybe a short novel too, I don't know.
It's on a much smaller scale.

We actually tried to start a thread on /vg/ before the Mod gave us the choice,

problem was that our thread was pushed of the board within 15 hours due to the usual slow pace of these threads.

So we understood that we don't have a chance to survive there and decided to stay here -
because the Mod allowed it.

He even banned one of the "GO BACK TO /VG/" spammers in the last thread, after announcing that he won't tolerate this kind of spam anymore.

So I really don't see any problem with us being here,
ONE! slow thread on a slow board like /jp/ seems fine to me.

Most of the time these threads don't even take up much of /jp/s space anyway,
some days ago page 15 was nonexistent

But in the end even valid arguments won't reach you, simply because you are just retarded and want to shit up this thread till the janitor arrives

This, and it's the whole point of /vg/. You have video game generals over a long period time, spanning hundreds of posts. This sort of thread is exactly what the board was created for. And it suits you perfectly--it will save chaining threads together and all the meta drama.

That's a funny delusion on moot's side, since general threads never actually clogged /v/. For every general there were dozen non-/v/ threads.
The real problem with generals was - people didn't like them and they caused meta shitstorms.
Which is exactly what's happening here.

Also, see KS threads being cleaned from /jp/.

I searched through the archive for you

http://archive.foolz.us/vg/thread/1076386

another thread from 4 days ago on /vg/ got deleted altogether

and yes,
in the end it is you guys who are causing a shitstorm,

we didn't ever harm you in two years,

we are keeping our stuff inside this thread and don't disturb any other threads,

just hide our Gust threads and ignore them

Is it really that difficult?

Do you people really enjoy insulting each other that much? How lowly. The way I see this is:
Party AT wants their general threads of X games that are "/jp/-related", even more so than regular jp games, mod and janitors said so, I can't argue with that.
Party "no fun allowed"(2) want these threads deleted arguing general threads belong on /vg/, which is true, plus, that AT is NOT /jp/-related or at least that it shouldn't get special treatment for just being a jp game, even if Mods said otherwise.
The arguments falls in the fact that it seems that Party 2 doesn't even know what AT is and only knows about it's genre and such, which is by no means a valid point. On the other hand Party AT is indeed making general threads, and there's /vg/ for that. But given that /vg/ was only meant to counter the influx on general threads on /v/, I don't even see why a perfectly fine and slow thread on a slow board would affect the board itself.
Conclusion, you're both wrong, but Party AT is less wrong and there's no reason to delete these threads. Party 2 should just go argue over all those shitthreads going on lately, if they're actually trying to defend /jp/'s rules as they say, that is.

>> No.8704803 [DELETED]

>>8704783
I made that thread (and the others).
See what I mean? None of you try. I had to make a thread for you, despite a mod telling you these threads belong on /vg/. And even though I spoonfed you, everyone just flamed and whined (rather hypocritical).

That particular thread is notable because I made it after the mod first declared video game generals should be kept in /vg/ (and locked the GUST thread).

Generalization. It was also meant to get KS threads out of /jp/ and that pleased everyone.
And /vg/ ended up way more than just a gulag for generals. There is plenty of discussion going that was never happening on /v/ before, they are their own board now.

Four of them via cdjapan.co.jp but due to the fact that they didn't have Homura in stock I also ordered two CDs via amazon.co.jp.

The amazon price on the CDs is cheaper,
but the international shipping cost is expensive as hell (and there ist only one shipping method)

cdjapans individual pricing is a little more, but you can choose between different shipping methods (reaching from fast and expensive to slow and cheap), so in the end it seems to be more reasonably priced overall.
(Oh and if you are a new customer you can redeem your cdjapan customer points you get for creating an account to lower the price for about 400? yen)

And why didn't I order everything at amazon.co.jp?
Well they ran out of SAKIYA=RUMEI copies.

When will I get some decent unit to replace IF, and are there better healers in game than Compa? IF I'd like to replace because she misses so damn often, and Compa is just annoying to use but she's so good.

IF can either be given an item later on that will increase her hit chance (some patch) or be replaced by a CPU/Candidate of your choice. A. Tecmo-koei owns Gust now and it's up to them whether they hand over the license to NISA, translate the game themselves or do anything with it at all in the West. NISA really has no say in the matter unless they feel like handing over the license.
B. Ciel no Surge has episodic content, and that's something which makes a localisation less likely because of the extra and ongoing efforts involved in translating it.
C. The game is on an unpopular platform, is in an unpopular genre and would be extremely hard to market.

So yeah, overall it's pretty unlikely the rest of the world will ever see the game.

Well on a more serious note I'm afraid we can't do anything about a localisation,

some threads ago someone suggested that we should start an online petition

so in the end the only option available is to import the japanese game;

But primarily, it's a galge. You have real routes, where the entire story/game alters itself because you choose to devote yourself to a particular heroine. And the stories are also practically entirely about the heroines, they are the focus of both the game and the story.
So rather about you doing stuff related to a story, you have your heroines doing stuff related to a story, and you merely try to do whatever you can to help them. Crudely put.

AT2 has dual language, but for space and/or programming reasons a lot of the Japanese voice track was cut from the NA version. There is an "undub" that corrects this, I believe.

AT3 has full dual language support.

Interesting factoid regarding the media on the game disc. The Japanese version has since voice-pack files containing all the spoken word events in the game. Each file in the vpack dir is an AFS archive containing 1000 ADX files (though some are just a single sample of silence, so say 950 lines average per file). 00000-05000 contain the voices from the main part of the game (05000 is 1/4 empty). 09000 contains battle-related lines (also 1/4 empty), as well as all the shopkeeper lines. 10000-18000 contain all the *sphere contents (regular character Cosmospheres, Binary Field, Infelsphere, though 18000 only has 158 files, so call it empty). By line count, there's a 4:3 ratio of VN-type content to regular game storyline. By actual data volume, it's more like 5:3, since a lot of the VN-like content is (unsurprisingly) longer.

Also, it looks like there's no space; the title seems to be Ciel Nosurge. (The main title is probably not Japanese, not unlike Ar tonelico.)

The setting - gigantic computer-server-tower which can only be operated with certain songs to create "magic"

song magic and "hymmnos" - a whole autonomous language created for this video game series which is used in some of the most fascinating music I have ever heard.

The music - is really something special as I already mentioned.
Do you happen to know Akiko Shikata?
(Umineko no naku koro ni Opening for the VN and the Anime)

She contributed some great songs to the series.

Years after playing the games I still listen to the music on a regular basis,
and I bought all 6 hymmnos concert CDs and Shikatas Ar=Ciel Ar=Dor album.

The "VN" elements - choosing different routes based on one of your heroines
It's something common in Eroges and VNs, but rarely seen in RPGs

The different routes, and, of course the different endings result in a high replay value, too

Most of the really bad parts translation-wise are in the side content where it doesn't matter too much. You can clearly tell that QC ran out of time once you get to the late game, but it's not like any serious scenes are ruined by "all your base are belong to us"-level lines.

In addition due to space and/or programming concerns a lot of the Japanese track was cut from the NA release. There is an undub that fixes this.

There's also a crash bug that happens if you don't kill a particular boss by the third or fourth round, but you can easily kill it before that point even if you put absolutely no effort into min/maxing.

Despite the fucked localization it is still IMO the best game in the trilogy.

An anime? There's already a shitty OVA available if that counts.

>> No.8740877

Do you guys think Ar Tonelico could work as an anime? In my head it works because the setting is marvelous, the lore is good, and anime with constant songs make me hard.

The AT anime OAV mostly didn't work, at least for me. An anime set in the same world might work, but would need to use different characters.

It didn't work because it had nothing to do with the actual game's plot. I don't know what they were thinking.

So I've had Neptunia Mk II sitting on my shelf for a week now, but I didn't start with it yet since I don't know if I should wait for all the DLC to be released first or not.

How long is MK2 again? I have been getting distracted with a bunch of things ever since it came out and I want to see if it's possible to at least maybe go through a decent amount of the game over the weekend.

Did anyone else get an email from NISA? Is it legit? Seemed kind of random.

Apparently it's shorter than usual. I've put in about 12 hours into the game (though some of that may have been spent away from the game) and I'm on chapter 3 of a potential 7.

Depends on what ending you go for. People claim to have spent very long hours grinding the shares for the bad end. I did my first playthrough in a little over 20 hours. My NG+++ is 75 hours.

I'm so glad that share grinding this time is so much easier and faster. Grinding in the first game was such a pain.

Also, I have always, always disliked the butcheries that are the PS3 the Best's game covers. The downsized cover art just doesn't do the art justice.

Help, GUST Thread. On Atelier Rorona, what triggers the Friendship Level 100 trophy? I already got everyone to 100.

Sterk, Tantris, Cordelia, Liona, Cole, Gio, Iksel, Hagel, Tiffany and Pamela. I'm not missing anyone right?

You probably are missing something. Check them all again. Maybe you lost some friendship with someone. (Not getting their request done in time, skipping Iksel's cooking event. there are possibilities for that)
If you really have 100, the only thing you can try is lowering someones friendship just to raise it later again.

Depends. For the normal/true route there's not much grinding honestly. The ruler end requires you to grind each country to 50%+ shares then grind 85%+ for Planeptune and 55%+ for world shares which is quite considerable but I'd say it's still less than what Neptunia required since guild quests can be stacked and done extremely easily.
