My point is that if you are on /jp/ and say you are a NEET, it carries certain implications that go beyond not being in education, employment, or training. In Japan it's almost synonymous with being a hikikomori, and we're Wapanese so that's how we tend to use it ("weeaboo" is a similar example--your post Ko/jp/ shows how it's gone beyond its original meaning as a wordfilter FOR "Wapanese").

There is a word for unemployed, and it's "unemployed".
