I used to be like you, OP, but my tastes have evolved and gotten more eclectic. Yet, I still listen to chinese cartoon's themes from time to time.

Most of the choices (for groups at least) are pretty good, but the album picks are sort of strange. In jazz, for example, if you can only pick one album why choose Coltrane's Ascension over A Love Supreme or Giant Steps? And why Mingus Ah Um over The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady?

I tell people I listen to classic rock. Growing up it's all that was played in my house so I'm able to sing along quite easily with the songs. I don't dislike them, but they don't make me feel as good as, say, a high powered denpa song. If they ask me what hobbies I have, I tell them I like cooking and photography (which are actually two of my normal hobbies). They don't know that I cook mostly desserts, or that I like to take pictures of figures and dolls. They won't ask. They never do. If it's not something incredibly mainstream like sports, cars, or maybe outdoorsmanship, they won't ask you anything about it.
