This is why I think Ar Tonelico threads don't belong here. I get they're sort of like galge but plenty of mainstream games with official Western releases take inspiration from /jp/-related games (e.g. Ace Attorney and Professor Layton) but don't belong here at all. However those guys stick to their own threads and the janitor stopped deleting them a few years ago, so I'm cool with it.

Basically, ask yourself this before making a video game thread:

Doujin games go in /jp/. This is both a community and staff decision, to a point where the board was almost renamed "doujin games". The reason THIS game doesn't belong is because it's not a doujin game, end of.

Though I think there's a possibility I'm confused as to what a "video game" is. To me, Touhou is a video game. Or is it that games played on a PC are "computer games" and games played on a video games console are "video games"? In which case I would partly agree with you, but I'm sure there are homebrew/amateur games developed for video games consoles too.
