There's a number of problems with this. First off, with anonymity, people start to accuse people of samefagging ever more than usual as they think they start to recognise posting styles, or just plain accuse anyone that disagrees with them.

Second it's not really solving the deeper issue here, it's only teaching people that identity, individual differences are to blame which is sort of endorsing hyperconservative/fascist though if you think about it.

I've nothing against the idea of a primarily anonymous messageboard. I just don't think there should be these kind of bullshit defenses for it.

I have commonly seen people (including myself) banned for avatarfagging with a reason like:
