I'm thinking of replaying Rance Quest with the expansion back from zero. Supposedly they changed gameplay to be less grindy so I hope it won't take too much time to see the new content.

I like they how they changed Prima's healing skill to recover HP proportionally to her level instead restoring lousy 50 HP so she is actually fairly useful now. I saw CG with Ice Flame girls among the promo pics so I'm looking forward to see more of them.

Just mount the mdf file on virtual drive and let it patch the game. I didn't had any messages received during the patching or when it finished but still it worked for me nevertheless.

Time to play.

Played it for a bit from the beginning and I have fairly pleasant impressions from the changes that they made in gameplay.
In the dungeon there is encounter bar now that fills whenever you move and initiates random encounter some time after it's completely filled. A fairly interesting feature for extra planning tp trigger red ball encounters at the moment when it's full or nearly full.
Charisma level now determines how many times you may initiate character change so even if all 5 characters in the party will be replaced at once it still will cost only one point.
Now every character has a set of 10 wait command. Very convenient for saving skill uses especially for the mages.
It may be random but it seems now there is a much higher probability to find character scroll from a random chest. I did just a few quests and already found Sel, Wichita and Chappie scrolls.
Prima's healing skill was changed and at least at the beginning she is much more useful healer than Sel.

The latter. I had played the game right after its release and was using the new patches whenever they were coming out. I just decided to replay it from the scratch instead continuing where I left it since I haven't touched it for months.

Why should they be removed? Even if Magnum doesn't require patching Rance Quest to the latest patch before the installation in such case it probably just adds quests that were included there on its own.
