To get to the current situation would require the cooperation of the stupidity of both the citizens and government, which is pretty impressive.

In Sweden we have had this thing called the "Pirat Partiet" aka the Pirate Party for a few years, who took the debate of copyright and file-sharing to its political platform.
In short they are pro-filesharing and the sharing of information in general, and they have argued for this since they were formed.
And they naturally want all of this to be completely legal and available, and that copyright and licence laws are incredibly outdated and even counter productive.
And after a couple of years they even got a couple of representatives into the European Parliament.

But not even they would argue so head-strong forward as Aeru, challenging and diminishing the entire system, even though they ultimately believe in it and would like to one day realize that.

Aeru should also be careful and be sure to catch the large gist of the arguments in the relevant discussion, and as to not trying to refute a point by quoting and referencing a video of a third party of Karl Fogel speaking for Google. Who does indeed carry very a sound stance and arguments. But it seemed like Aeru missed lots of points when she blurts out lines like this while referencing said speech;
"The best answer to Aho-san's question might be that it is a question that is best answered if it isn't asked."
because all while that's practically true in regards to copyright and revenue of artists in a typical sense in correlation to copyright. Karl introduced his speech with admitting that it likely did hurt the publishing industry a bit.

And that's basically where entire points of the arguments are missed, driving right passed eachother. While alot of publishing industries are indeed doing alot of wrongdoings, the concept of publishers isn't in and out bad in itself. And the publishing industry can indeed be your friend, hence why it started it in the first place, but this can be argued to be even more relevant in regards to a niche market as small as VNs and Galge/Eroge, and also when said publishing industry are in charge of relevant internationalization and localization issues, officially.
But even with all that said, it's also very noteworthy to note that all while there are many sound arguments for file-sharing and against copyright, and how it might be true that most arguments against this is bonkers in some way, it's still very relevant to realize that the debate isn't at all the same in Japan where all these works are bought from/made in.

Aaeru is not setting up a political party, she's not setting up a major industry player, she's not going to (be able to) monopolize the VN/eroge market, not the overseas one, not the Japan one. Sometimes I just wonder what Aaeru is up to.
She could start a conversation with the topic of the current situation of visual novels, and how to best strengthen it.

But then she drops the topic of visual novels and proceeds to discuss copyright law, taking it further and further, to the point where the topic is indeed, copyright law and not so much the situation of visual novels.
And then proceeds to start new topics such as questioning why one can't question the law or something. In which case she can still make lots of valid points in her arguments, but in the end one can still ask oneself what it has to do with the current situation of visual novels.

I mean, Aaeru can speak at lengths at how the official channels of publishing and distribution are so very inefficient.
And while she might be entirely correct in how file sharing isn't wrong, nor damaging the industry in itself by its very concept.
