It goes from being a neat idea to the writers forgetting who their audience is supposed to be and padding out every season with nothingness.

I marathoned most of it and then watched one episode of Justice League Unlimited right after. It amazed me how a twenty minute cartoon aimed mostly at children had better character development than hours of a show aimed at teenagers and young adults. Tom Welling is like a cardboard cut-out, which kind of sucks because he was perfect for the role of Superboy.

I can appreciate it in a video game, where you get to partake in the action, but I don't think I would ever want to read about it.

As to cuteness, it's more or less its own form of sexuality, but the West refuses to recognize that and instead ascribes cuteness to animals only, probably creating furries through cartoons. It's obviously a compound issue, but I believe the primary cause is that many women in our society find it offensive.

That's sort of why Western superhero comics are good though. They have to mix things up to keep it interesting. Saving the world gets old, saving the galaxy gets old, saving the universe gets old, saving the multiverse gets old. It really pushes authors to their creative limits when everything has been done and everyone is a god. Thus, we get good stories.
You know how anime sometimes takes a fresh take on a cliche genre like Madoka did? Pretty much every relevant comic in the past thirty years has been like that.

Cartoons are less like that since kids are dumb and have ADHD and kids in the 2000s didn't watch the same cartoons kids in the 80s did. They're still fresh and fun though.
