Hey /jp/,

recommend me a decent J-dorama.

I've seen Power Office Girls, Yankee-kun, Stand Up! and My Boss My Hero. But i want something that is really good, and doesn't try too hard to emulate anime (seriously, why did they adapt the Yankee-kun manga into a J-dorama?)

Recommend me something really good and funny.

GTO. I like the drama of it better than any other incarnation.

Sumire 16, even though I never bothered to watch it but the very idea of that manga being live action is hilarious.

It's /jp/

It involves Japan and doesn't involve anime.

1 Liter of Tears.
Quite possibly the most tear-jerking thing I have ever watched. I hear the book is better, but I'm pretty sure it's not translated. It's based on a true story too (the book is actually her diary).

As a big Ayase Haruka fan I'd recommend her doramas.

JIN is my favourite. It's about a Japanese doctor, who travels back to the late Edo jidai.

Another one, and definitely a tearjerker, is Sekai no chuushin de ai wo sakebu. Typical dorama-storyline. Girl gets seriously sick and stuff.

Hotaru no hikari is quite fun, about a girl, who kinda lives like a hikikomori but tries really hard so others won't notice.

You should really try and watch JIN, it had great ratings in Japan.

What are some good K-dramas, then? I think I've run out of good South Korean movies to watch, so I guess I can move on to TV now.

I like that comedy drama where a father switch body with her daughter, shame i forgot the name.

>Opinionated post.

K-Dramas are way too stale in acting, their whole production is strictly based on the love theme.

J-Dramas on the other hand have a more varied themes.
