I had this big-ass post where I was talking a lot about what I suspect about moot. Being around 4chan so long has given me an honorary degree in mootology. Yes I'm aware that what he says here doesn't mirror his actual opinions or private life, that's not even the half of it though. No matter how much I try to trim it, I can't post my real conclusions (gets that "part of your comment wasn't allowed to be posted" crap).

This is not the first time it's happened whenever I try to talk about moot, he has some specific filters in place globally that I keep bumping into and I'm very curious what they are, since possibly that's some kind of clue I'm on to something. I'm wondering if I should just paste it into a text box as an image, but don't want to risk getting banned since my IP won't reset with the modem (it's permanently static) and I don't want to have to go through a bunch of crap over this.

I don't really care much about moot's private life, that's highly irrelevant to me actually.

Him being admin from start to today must give him some really neat insights and observations since he predates the existence of oldfags. For all our knowledge and wisdom about 4chan he's probably got 100x more than that. I bet he could write a fascinating book about human nature from all this time observing and toying with 4chan. Thoughtful reflection and observations about this place almost never come to light here or anywhere else, though.

Also things like how assholery in 4chan started out more tounge in cheek, people mocking racists, homophobes more than actually being them. As 4chan and the internet in general opened up to commoners and trendwhores, people didn't read between the lines. How Encyclopedia Dramatica and sites like it shifted from merely documenting drama to instigating it, the sociopathic psychology that allowed them to bully autistic kids and that(I guess a bit closer to what you're talking about), the pyschology behind things like the Habbo raids, how memes are formed etc.

I'm sure there's already been stuff written about it but I'm surprised it's not more popular.
