I don't have anything to contribute, but thank you to whoever made the Pastebin. I first really took notice of the term floating around /jp/ a few months ago and I've been curious about it since. Guess I'll check these albums out. I love bouncy pop and such, so this seems like it might be my cup of tea.

I'm personally waiting for ave;new's albums. I thought they were released in C81 but looking at the homepage they'll be released on February 10th.

Old school denpa is great. I think there were plenty that weren't just about making it as crazy as possible back then too though. For example, Momoi Haruko was initially offended by the term denpa since it was used mockingly saying the songs were crazy, while she meant UNDER17's lyrics to be taken seriously. Over time the term has softened and she uses it freely to describe her own songs now though. But back then no one set out to make a 'denpa song'. The categorization came about after the songs were made (supposedly first used to describe KOTOKO's sakuranbo kiss), and now its grown into something artists aim for.

Not really. Just very dedicated fans. They have been on TV a few times though. I was actually at the live, it was insane and so much fun. The fans had a hand made LED sign and exploding mirror ball that they used at coordinated times during the songs for example.

I ask because that stuff is practically nonexistent in the west, even if the fanbases are huge.

It's a mix of online and off, a bit different for each artist. Generally a group of fans takes it upon themselves to plan specific stuff like chants, but the basics are the same for most artists. Some fans will make call books to hand out as guides at the lives events. Dempagumi really encourages that kind of stuff, and are really close to their fans, so their stuff is more complex than average. (But for the most complex, see a group like FICE or something with full on synchronized dancing.)

On the other hand, some artists don't have any fans organizing stuff, so their lives don't have much unity among the fans. (Toromi for example.)

Toranoana's stock for Odenpa Studio's C81 release were low so I went ahead and asked a proxy service to buy it for me. I also had them buy their third and fourth singles as well. I sent the payment so I guess now I just have to wait.

I've been doing live DJ sets over uStream for the past couple months, I've been thinking of doing a denpa set and some Japanese guys seemed to be happy about it. I don't know if you guys like that shit though.
