What mythic figure/s do you think your favorite Touhou is representative of? (For those not familiar with comparative mythology, I find Joseph Campbell to be an excellent introduction the field.)

I associate Tokiko with Athena. Like Athena, she is a motherly figure, drawing out strong aspects of femininity in her image. Her strong link with books could be a symbol for her substantially high intelligence and wisdom. And if we observe her struggle with Reimu, we'll see that she's just, only using her powers in self-defense. While Tokiko may not be the most war-loving Touhou (indeed, she seems to prefer a more solitary life - hermitage, as I'm sure you know, comes naturally to eccentrics blessed with high intellect and is required to refine one's art), she was certainly able to do some damage. Lastly, like Athena, Tokiko has a strong association with birds - For Athena, the wise owl, and Tokiko, the courageous Crested Ibis. In fact, earlier forms of Athena even give her wings like my beloved bird.

Are you really that desperate?

Tokiko is ban evading. Please report this thread, or perhaps this post so mods know why. They should be able to confirm this.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Please don't bully, even if it's Tokiko ;_;
If you want to have a thread going on you should hide your name, everyone hates you by now...

I'm not sure, but there are a lot of interesting demons/trickster gods that cause troubles for people. Anansi the spider and Loki the Norse god come to mind. Their stories are usually more comedic than series but I think they offer a deeper look into how people view their gods - I mean, our Christian God and His friends are always serious in the most ultimate sense. But in older polytheistic religions especially, god images are much more human, so to speak. Gods get jealous, fall in love, play pranks, and get in arguments just like we do. I find that really interesting... It really says a lot about how cultures have changed, haven't they?

I always have had the interpretation that many /jp/ers were intelligent and well read. These threads (well, Touhou and religions/spirituality/myth) have been really popular in the past so I figured I'd start up another. They're also a lot of fun!

I always wondered. If somebody can ban evade, what's the stop them from continually evading even after a perm-ban?

ISP ban.

My hope is this:
* Mods keep banning him, he keeps evading.
* It becomes a cat-and-mouse chase and the mods genuinely despise him (like Lanced Jack).
* Eventually they put other precautions in place, name-bans, range banning, etc.
* Tokiko either stops posting, stops posting with an identity, or he exhausts all the IP addresses ICANN and his ISP have assigned and is banned for good.

I like how the "Fuck off, Archduke" posts were replaced by "Fuck off, Joseph" even though Joseph and Archduke are two completely different people.

So you'd be fine if these exact same threads were posted anonymously?

No. He'd be forced to be a "normal" poster. Anything that lets *us* know he's Tokiko will also let the mods know (I don't see why people think the mods aren't capable of problem-solving).

>>8495447
It doesn't matter. Tokiko probably gets off on the whole identity thing and squeals with joy every time someone believes one of his false aliases, but it really doesn't matter. Whether it's one guy or fifty, Tokiko should be banned.

I'm hoping our janitor is leaving this for a mod to deal with.
