The anime is a fine place to start.

But you made a big mistake. You should be a fan of superior glorious Miki instead.

Where should you start in becoming a Chihaya fan? Well, I suppose that would depend on what you like about her.

I'm no Chihaya fan, but I can say that much. Personally, I find her personality to be a little flat. Kind of like a pitcher that can't throw a curve ball, you know? I just can't help but feel a little... bored, when watching her on the stage.

No idea why, though. I guess I just prefer girls with a bubbly, bouncy personality. It's a shame, because I'll be the first to admit she has quite the robust singing voice. I'll be looking forward to future developments; I hope they'll flesh out her character so that it becomes more well-rounded.

Yeah, somehow the threads on /a/ and /jp/ made me sympathise Chihaya as well. Looked up where she is from and some basic information about her, but that was it for me.
Im way to lazy and/or apathic to actually play the games or even bother downloading the anime.
But at least i can browse the idolm@ster threads and have a wague idea about whats going on in there.
