So why do you people want the PC-98 characters to return? None of them are any good and they're all uninteresting (all Touhous are uninteresting, anyway, but moreso the PC-98 characters). Really, I can't see the appeal of old little girl with silly hat and frilly dress A over new little girl with silly hat and frilly dress B, so why would you want them to return?

Well, we're going to get new games regardless, and I don't think there would be an appreciable difference in gameplay if one single stage ended up being a character we're already familiar with instead of a new character.

It could even end up tying into the story and solidifying the appearance of new characters, like what Nue did for Rocky Raccoon.

Mai or Meira. Both of them seem like fun to play with.
