How did you come out to your parents as an otaku?

>> No.8369556

I flipped to a channel that aired japanese music clips pretty much 24/7, and I patiently explained to my parents why all those grown women dressed like little girls.

They don't know. I'd say I "hide my power level" but that's a stupid meme and implies I'm actively doing something.
I just sit in my room all day. They don't know what I do. I hope they think I'm masturbating 24/7 or something.

I just told my mom that I loked japan and anime, and told her that i wanted a Kimono for my birthday.
But I didn't get one ;_;

My mom saw me watching Serial Experiments Lain the other day (I usually watch anime in my room, behind closed doors) and asked me, "Aren't you too old for Pokemon?" So I explained to her about anime.

She also knows for sure that I'm a computer otaku. I used to have maybe 8 or 9 computers in my room running all the time until she eventually complained about the noise.

They saw me watching Naruto on Cartoon Network. I also watched NHK World TV once and they know I used to like Pokémon.

I hate being such a high-powerlevel otaku.
