I like seeing her in uncommon pairings.

Marisa left her home at a relatively young age for a reason we do not know, but one that appears to have been personally motivated as she refuses to go back out of principle. She is from the human village, but has many youkai friends up to and including Mima, who isn't exactly a smalltime fairy. It could be inferred, which is really an educated guess, that something about why she left may have to do with her apparent sympathizing with youkai, which are still seen as frightful and monsterous by the human population. The last person she still interacts with from that population readily is half-youkai himself.

I think Marisa's too bland in her actual depicted actions, all she does is being an onlooker of Reimu's constant suffering at the hand of the fairies or whatever thing that causes them and sometimes even cause them herself.
