/v/ here. As I'm sure you're all aware, Katawa Shoujo finally came out and I was wondering what other epic English VNs you guys could recommend.

I've already played Monster Quest and KS so I'm not exactly new to this stuff. Feel free to recommend the more hardcore VNs that you would normally keep to yourselves.

Just try some ``entry-level'' (ugh) Japanese VNs with English patches. It depends what you're into. Wanko to Kurasou is a fun galge with an interesting setting and pretty art. It's cute and what I normally recommend to new people.
If you want something less cute and a little more disturbing, go read Saya no Uta. One of my favorite VNs (deal with it) and I recommend it to anyone who likes psychological/Lovecraftian horror.
Both should be on /rs/ or a google search away.

With the internet, globalization, etc. it was only a matter of time before some western doujin circles started popping up. It's about time the world outside japan moved up from making furry half-demon naruto self-insert characters and actually starting making something decent. KS could be the start of something interesting. It was bound to happen eventually, I mean rap was made exclusively by black americans in the early days and now pretty much every nation on earth has it's own rap scene. Who's to say VNs/doujin games couldn't have a similar (although obviously not as wide spread) fate?
