If you want to learn the game from scratch, I highly suggest C-Nanaya (or C-Tohno). His gameplay mostly revolves around his normals which is a good starter for beginners. Crescent Moon in general is recommended if you want to learn the game.

Bah, game froze up at the end there. V.Akiha is a tough character to pick up. She has the least life and takes the most damage of any character in the game (or that was true in MBAC anyways, not sure if it still holds). If you're going to play her, you either need a much better pressure game or a much stronger defense, preferably the former. GGs and rehosting if you want to rejoin, otherwise whoever.

I had similar issues on my laptop. You probably don't have pixel shader 3.0.
