You have seen every part of her former life in her dreams, but in the end nothing was solved, just because you explored everything (all 24 Effects) she didn't stop being a hikkikomori. Jumping was kind of her way of getting the control back from her life, leaving all her bad experiences behind in form of the effects. Well that is just my theorie and I heard that many people cried at the end, me included, cause we got just so used to the old "at the end you save the princess".

>> No.8321252

Anybody else notice that the more effects you get, the more the real world's weather gets worse and worse?

Anyway, I always assumed that the messed up dreams she was getting, whether they were caused by traumatic events, or simply being cooped up for too long, built up mental stress. At the end, she was so stressed and unbalanced, she found a way to fall asleep where she wouldn't dream.

I don't have anything against those people (I'm not one of these jaded edgy folk) but I actually laughed at the end. Her death was so sudden. She just sort of...hopped. Maybe it would have been a little gimmicky, but some sort of fancy slowdown or zoom effect might have been good there.

I didn't notice that, actually, this one time near when I got the ending, the sky was actually really sunny. Here's a screenshot. I took the screenshot because it was one of the calmer panoramas I've seen in the balcony area.

I usually laugh at the death of real people. I only get emotional over 2d Characters, kinda explains why I'm on /jp/. But I guess any other wouldn't do it, if nothing changes it would be stupid and if she would just walk outside her room it would be stupid too.

If only you could actually hear her think, read the diary, or stuff like that, you could actually establish a stronger connection to her, and therefore feel more out of the death.

It's like:
1. A girl committed suicide today, by jumping off of her apartment's balcony.
Reaction: Oh, okay.

2. Hi, I'm Madotsuki... I've been a shut in for such a long time. Some stuff happened in life that... Well, makes me scared to go outside. However, I've been having these dreams. They take me back to the worst times of my life, in awful, twisted ways. And they just keep playing, over and over again, until they're horrible, messed up abominations that I can't run away from. Every time I close my eyes, I'm there again. I just want to find an escape. When I am asleep, The horrible memories are there. I can try to stay awake, but I can do nothing, NOTHING, without making more horrible memories that I will keep seeing, over and over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I NEED to find some way to finally find peace, to finally get over all of the mistakes I have made! They keep twisting in my stomach like a wicked knife... How do I escape? The only way is to end it all... To finally sleep without waking up. I won't have any dreams then. I'll finally close my eyes, and not see the demons of my past torturing me... Yes... It's seeming more and more appealing... I'M GOING TO DO IT! *Jumps*

>>8321524
I liked walking around and exploring too, but only in a few areas. Again, holding left to walk through the same shit isn't fun or exploring or whatever. It's just an artificial way to make the game longer.

>>8321542
I did after a while. I also noticed a few people use programs to speed up the game's cycle rate.
If you need to do that in your game, then it's pretty poorly designed. In fact I think a lot of it was. Stuff like, "Exit the room then re-enter twenty times for the next effect!" is what I would expect out of some 12-year-old's Mario "hack". There are no hints and there's absolutely no reason for it. Experimenting is fine, but I shouldn't need a walkthrough just to play your game properly.

Posting in a Yume Nikki thread while listening to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFQRxqHXMb0

Perhaps she was a pokemón trainer. The Toriningen are the trainers that challenged her, Poniko is her former self and Monoko and Monoe were her friends.

Her pokémon died in a battle which caused her such stress the only thing she could do was confine herself in her room. Now even in her dream the past memories haunt her endlessly.

I think Yume Nikki is something that I can relate to. Not the whole thing, but the symbolism and vagueness of it makes some aspects very relatable. Like the Toriningen that could be the bullies to traumas to Poniko (who doesn't pay attention to you and eventually becomes Uboa which could symbolize her stabbing you in the back or something.)

It's also nice to be fucked up in the head every once in a while.
