Since the massive genocide of lolis on my board, I've started playing a game named touhou, a lot, and I suck. I don't understand what exactly is a spell card and how to use it, if I can use it.
If you can explain me how it work to get them/use them I'll be grateful. inb4 suck my cock dude

Hoping this isn't a copypasta.

Spell cards are certain boss attacks. The numbers there are how many times you've beaten that spell card without dying/using a bomb. You can tell the boss is using a spell card if, right before their attack, a larger picture of them shows up on screen. Oh, and there'll be little red words on the top during.

PROTIP: spellcards can be used both by the enemy and by you.

Enemy spellcards can be captured by not dying, not bombing and killing the enemy before timing out.

You use your spellcards by hitting X. Spellcards act as bombs.
