TDCG(3D Custom Girl) thread. Post saves, links to mods, discuss modding, post screenshots, etc.

Discussion of MMD is welcome as well, as it can be considered an extended use of the program.

I look away for a moment and the thread dies... ugh. Also, Merry late-ish Christmas again.

Speaking of MMD, here's another(test) video made using MMD again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGScnZJzvlI

It's of Poker Face by my favorite artist, Lady Gaga.

Beware Vocaloid and huge breasts. They get bigger from the start.

It's not finished. I don't know if I'll bother finishing it, probably no point. I made it for fun to try out making a camera motion with perspective off, but I ended up adding a bunch of effects. As with anything else I post, it's third rate, so don't bother if you haven't liked the past ones or just aren't interested.

Glad to hear it. While it was a test video of sorts, feedback is appreciated if you have any. Especially on the camera, since that was the point of making the video(although I let myself get out of hand). I wanted to test if/how people reacted differently to no perspective.

I forgot about another one I made, but it's just a Kocchi Muite Baby(pure dance, no effects/etc) video. I imagine everyone reading here has seen one of them, and if you've seen one you've seen them all, but here if anyone's interested.

I've always been of the impression that the ass is actually the weirdest part of her body. Sometimes it's incredible, others it seems odd. I kind of go from one body type to the other day to day, or did back when I could fap without fear. I must have around 10 different body types for her.

What are the mods you use to get that body?
I used TDCG a bit some years ago but never got into the modding of it because I found the default body entirely unappealing.

>> No.8313621

>>8311552
The body is a texture edit of the N993 body. I think it was only up for a short time on the tim uploader; either way, any high poly body mod should be nearly the same. But, the lower jaw and mouth are from MMD's Lat Miku model.

However, the best body is by far the NJXA, but there aren't many clothing options for it. I'd like to use it, but I don't because of that and the fact that I'd have to design new proportions.

I sometimes convert stages from Illusion games or TDCG for use in MMD. Because I'm converting them anyways, I'll offer to post them here if anyone would be appreciative of it.

As anyone who's actually tried it has probably noticed, it's often not really just a simple matter of converting. Objects which use shade blending(I don't know the English term for it) are not displayed correctly in MMD, resulting in scenes like the left one where there are black spots or some objects have white outlines.

Left is how it looks after conversion, right is the proper, corrected look.

In any case, if anyone wants them when I convert+fix them I'll post them here, but if you don't think you'd ever use them please ignore this.

In case anyone else is interested in the dance portion of MMD, there was an event(Dance Motion Climax 3) held for dance motions recently in which a lot(15+) of motions were released.

You can find the motions using this tag(all videos will contain a motion link):

If you can't figure out a password feel free to ask. I'd say Galaxias! is the best of the bunch.

Also, in case anyone wants to try it but doesn't know how to get the music into MMD, briefly:

1. http://nicosound.anyap.info/ to rip audio from a video
2. Use some kind of sound editing program to convert mp3 to wav(Wavepad Sound Editor's free/trial version works)
3. D&D the wav file into MMD(or put it into the folder inside of File>Load wav and load from there)

It generally takes about 30 seconds or less, but sometimes you might have to wait in queue to rip sound.

Made another video for anyone interested. This time it's for Natsu no Sari shi Kimi wo Omofu(At Summer's Passing I Think of You). I actually kind of regret using this one because I don't really think the motion is that good. It's great at the complicated parts but many of the simple/slow motions are just robotic. The first part where she does the step was just total chaos as well, so I more or less had to reanimate that just for it to be watchable. Not that I'm complaining about a free motion, I just should have chose another one if I was going to put work into a video.

I can't say I've ever used Girl2Man, but I would suspect one of two ways:

1. Try using PngPose to create a tmo file from a pose file altered to have proportions with TMOProportion and an expression
2. Try using TMOProp? I believe you have to start it from the command prompt, and then enter
TMOProp.exe your.tmo
which should produce a proportions tmo file using the settings described in the TPOConfig file(which you set with TMOProportion).

2 seems a little more likely but I've never tested.

If there's a readme for girl2man I can't find
it, and I don't want to go hunting for the original download right now(where did you get it from?).

Well, I've made some progress but am now stumped on something new. I got a working tah out of it, but all posing was completely screwed up. I guess this is because the program was expecting a certain 'neutral' pose, maybe? I'm not sure how to work out what this is or how to best set it up in pose mode, either.

I also found out that if you simply leave the tmo field empty, it still gives you a functioning tso anyway, with the default facial expression. The only catch here is that, at least on my install, it doesn't load - unless I use some modified base tahs set up for custom proportions (thinner waist). But, when I load it like this the posing is a bit screwed up again.

I tried doing everything from scratch again with vanilla base tahs, and still get the same results, which is really weird.

Well, I've made some progress... I've got a semi-working tah out of girl2man, but the posing/bones seem to be a bit screwed up ingame. I generated the tmo by getting tmocompose to make a 1-frame animation.
As far as I can tell using tdcgexplorer and tsoview, the model in the tah is fine, so the game itself must be modifying the skeleton weirdly or misinterpreting the data somehow. I've also compared this to a known working man mod and everything seems the same there too.

Here's a screenshot, note the distortion on the shoulders, arms and knees. Everything seems slightly off.

Actually, there might be something wrong with my tmo. Packing the manmod_dummy.tso that comes with girl2man (and is used in the processing somehow) into a tah works just fine.
I've also tried just leaving the tmo field blank, but this still gives the same problems.

I should probably have asked months ago, but is there an easy way of using PMDEditor or another tool to add back the inside faces tso2pmd helpfully removes? Ideally using the same material as the outside, or a solid color.
PMDEditor is just a mess of abbreviations I can't even begin to understand so please assume I'm dumb if you know.

I've been meaning to try to stuff out for you, but I've been a little busy lately with getting ready to distribute effects, a motion, and maybe finishing up a legitimate PV or two. It's a little difficult to get myself to go back and try various tools out because it's been a long time since I used TDCG for anything but putting models together(MMD for everything else).

>>8362804
It's not really removing faces(to my knowledge), it's just turning off double-side drawing. I'm not sure how TDCG flags two-side drawing, but apparently tso2pmd isn't designed to read and compensate.

For PMD models, to turn on double-sided drawing, set the alpha value of the mesh to 0.999.

For PMX models, just click the 両面描画 box.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm16653688
MikuMikuMoving has had its first official release.

I'm going to watch the video and summarize its contents. It's a huge improvement from MMD. Doesn't seem to take it on the path to Blender(which has a bigger focus on the 3d design aspect) and seems to stick to animation, which I like.

https://sites.google.com/site/moggproject/mmm
It's downloadable here, but I suspect that MMD will still be better than it for awhile. I'm just glad that, with any luck, MMD's evolution will be back on track(things cooled down a lot after Higuchi quit), and that I can get rid of all these fucking .wav files eating up hard drive space.

>> No.8382981

This is gonna take a few posts. Hope nobody minds, it's pretty major and I will try to get Mogg to let me translate the user manual.

Some of the functions of MMM:
1. Reorganizable user interface; movable bars with buttons, windows, etc.

2. Multi-audio track
-By default there are 4 tracks. As you load more, the number increases.
-You can reposition audio tracks on the frame chart, by D&D or by right clicking and specifying a frame.

3. Multi-layered bones
-In MMD, you had to create multi-layered bones on the model side. There were many problems with this, including the fact that not everyone knew how to do it or how to use them. Now, it's done on the software side, and you can add multilayered bones to any model.
I can't begin to explain how wonderful this is. This is a basic feature that MMD had always been missing.
To do it, right-click a bone on the timeline, and select 多段モーション追加.

>> No.8382988 [DELETED]

4. Visualization of morphs(?), added interpolation line to morphs
--Morphs are now displayed as shapes on the timeline. Morphs are now listed as long rectangular boxes. If the morph's height is at the top of the box, it's fully active. If you've ever used the MMD tool FaceAndLips, it's essentially that application built into the program.
--Whereas before, in order to see how much a morph was activated, you had to go to the frame and check the morph, now it's visible on the timeline because of this feature.
--In addition, you can control them without registering frames by clicking and dragging the points on the shape up and down. You can register them with a double click.
--Interpolation line for morphs. This is an absolutely godly addition. Now you can control not only how much the morph moves but how it progresses.

5. Physics can be disabled/enabled as keyframes
--By registering frames, you can disable/enable things such as physics and edge width. This can be done on a per-model basis.

6. Multiple light sources
--Currently, only 3 light sources are available. Only one is active by default; you can activate the others by clicking on the light and then clicking "Active" under "Properties".

Oh, by the way, the image is to show how morphs work if it wasn't obvious. You can see his cursor has a point on a box highlighted; by dragging that point up and down you can control the morph.

7. Plugins
--Just what it says. Possibly the most major thing here but I don't have much to write. As examples of plugins, he provided "add random blinking" and "rotation to 0(don't know what this does)."
--He says the functionality of the plugin system is described online and hopes people make plugins, but I'm not sure where.

8. Automatic backup
-You can change the frequency at which it saves and number of files.

This isn't everything that's been added, either. This is a gigantic leap for MMD(-style programs), or it will be once MME is added and things are ironed out. You can view some more functionality, such as a multi-track camera, on the distribution site(It has an English version).

And it goes without saying that you can use TDCG models, in case anyone is wondering. It uses PMD and PMX format still, and can read VMD files.

Seems like I might have accidentally deleted the second post(after >>8382788), so here it is again. Sorry for taking up so much space, but this project is wonderful compared to its predecessor(MMD), and not much harder to use.

Not yet, but it's one of the planned features. Soon MMM will be able to do everything MMD does and much more. I would say that just the fact that you can make plugins alone puts it several levels above MMD, or will in the future.

I think its vertex limit is still set a little low, however, as my model does not appear to load properly.

One feature I really like that hasn't been mentioned is that you can move around accessories without a dummy bone.

Looks like I'll be translating MikuMikuMoving's manual into English. I thought for sure he was going to think I was a foreigner and just ignore me.

Wish me luck.

Also, probably more importantly:
For anyone looking to get into MMD, I recommend using tso2pmx, not tso2pmd or any version of tso2pmd I previously posted. This only applies to default-style body types(I.E. everything but NJXA and maybe a couple of others).

tso2pmx converts the models with superior weightings(BDEF4), which makes the model bend better at certain places. For example, the bending of the area between the ass and the legs is greatly improved as you can see in the picture(the leg is tilted at the same angle in both sides). This is actually really important for the ass if you like edges.

Alternatively, you can just use the NJXA body... it's weighted well with either. But mods are limited.

However, if you have enough experience with MMD/3D to be using multilayered bones, I'll warn that pmx models do not seem to work with the PMDEditor plugin called BoneDoubler, and possibly many others. This is actually a really big issue for me...

Also, I should mention that I'm in direct contact with the developer of MMM, so if you have any requests for basic functionality(nothing explicitly sexual or just for you), I can try proposing things to him. No promises, though, as I don't want him to overwork himself and he probably has plenty on his plate as it is. [Missing] functionality that turned you away from or frustrated you about MMD are fine, but take a look at MMM's new features(here: https://sites.google.com/site/moggproject/mmm_eng)) first.

Feels like I'm attention whoring, but if people have(non-graphical) issues with the program that stops them from using it that I haven't thought, of I'd really like to know as I may be in the position to get it fixed.

Personally, I think it would be amazing if it could use Toonshader2/cgfxshader techniques from TDCG, but I'm not going to mention that as I have no idea what it entails(probably an overhaul...). At least not until he gets the program in working order.

Sort of depends on what you mean, or rather your goals.

It's fully possible to use MMD with no modelling knowledge whatsoever and get complete satisfaction, especially if your goal is just to watch cute girls dance or animate(animating is a skill but isn't going to require book reading if you have sense). MMD feels more like playing a game than "operating 3d software."

However, if you want to use a TDCG girl, you'll probably want to learn at least some modelling basics as they definitely need fixing up in MMD. But there are many beautiful models in MMD outside of TDCG, so if you don't mind using a standard model(this generally means no porn) then you need no modelling knowledge.

Even if you're looking to create PVs, you don't really need much besides artistic sense.
Hell, there are PVs far more successful than the most complicated of mine that require a fifth of the technology/knowledge to create.

tl;dr
Do you just want to watch girls dance or animate? Then no, you'd might as well be playing a game(there is skill involved). All you need to do is know the controls and have content to load.
Do you want to use a TDCG girl? Not needed per se, but you'll probably want to pick up some modelling basics as it won't look as good as TDCG otherwise.

In any case, MMD only requires real knowledge if you're a nutcase/retard like myself who can't wait until 30 to become a wizard. Meaning, you want to bring your girl(s) to life and be the god of your 2/2.5d world.

>>8398490
Try the vpvp wiki, or the MikuMikuDance database(not the "MMD Database").

http://www6.atwiki.jp/vpvpwiki/pages/65.html

Hmm, aside from the ability to use multiple sources of lighting and some additional control over shadows, probably not. Its improvements are mostly related to animation.

At the very least, if you make any use out of MME, it might be some time before it's usable. I can say I'll be waiting for MME to become fully functional before I switch.

When he finishes everything left to do, there won't be much of a point in using MMD since MMM(as it's planned) is more or less flat out better, but I'm speaking in terms of the present moment.

It's TMOProportion. Not really a specific mod, just proportions customization. It's not particularly easy to reproduce, but if you want to try you'll need extra .cs files. You can find the necessary .cs files here:

Configure proportions using tso2pmd, and then use the TPOConfig file produced by tso2pmd with PNGProportion. So long as your proportions folder for tso2pmd and tmoproportion are the same it should work.

There are a few files that tso2pmd uses which cause TMO/PNGProportion to crash, though. I think they're the AAA files(except for maybe the hips one?) and some of the Chichi files(boin, wide, up). There may be one or two others, but it's been long enough that I've forgotten. Back when I last used it, I just tested which ones worked by process of elimination through a few batch deletes.

Being more specific, you need to replace the TPOConfig file output by tso2pmd with the one in the TMOProportion folder. Tso2pmd automatically outputs a TPOConfig file whenever it converts a character, so just configure a character using tso2pmd, convert, and then put the new TPOConfig file inside of the TMOProportion folder.

And it may have sounded like I contradicted myself there, but I meant that as long as the proportions specified by the TPOConfig file are in the TMOProportion folder, you'll get the same proportions. It's fine if the folder contents aren't exactly the same as tso2pmd's, so deleting the nonfunctional files is no issue.

Heh, not to respond seriously, but I find myself thinking this too whenever I see it in the OC thread. One day, I'll have something worth posting, etc.

I've thought about that a lot while I sit here in this thread. There'd probably be a lot of hate regarding it due to "3D"/"shit graphics"/etc, but I've thought that /jp/ would probably do well to look into MMD in its VN projects. Getting an artist to draw stuff for free seems like a largely hopeless endeavor, and even if hand-drawn 2d art would be preferable, MMD can get the job done better than anything else with little knowledge and has the benefit of being easily animated.

I imagine that it would be something the Japanese have to do first before anyone considers it, though.

Notes:
1. The waists are going to be really thin. I can't help myself with this.
2. There are problems with some clothes. Some skirts will clip through the ass by default, some panties are warped, etc. This is... fixable in TDCG, but the only solutions that look good are in MMD.
3. I've spared you uploading proportions with really big breasts, you damn lolicons(if that's what you are looking for I'll upload one or two).
4. There are a lot of proportions files. This means the program will take a really long time to start up. Be patient. Yes, many of them are unused, but I'm too lazy to go back and sort them.
5. Yes, the files have some of the stupidest naming conventions ever created. In the picture I've tried to show the most important groups.
6. Hair is scaled! Unscale it with TDCG.Proportion.cs_dee_kami_ALL_Back_L and TDCG.Proportion.cs_dee_kami_ALL_Back_W.

In the end, just take them as examples, I suppose. Even I do some correcting in PMDE for the OPvid proportions(personally I think the ass looks a little fat pre-conversion, so I do some scaling TMOProportion can't do with PMDE), so correct it however you feel like if you don't like something. That's the point of the program, after all.

They may look different on different bodies. I can tell you that at the very least, the OPvid proportions shouldn't work well at all on the NJXA.

If that doesn't answer your question, post again.

tl;dr tso2pmx uses bdef4 for weighting, which seems to fix the problem for standard body mods. Alternatively, it seems the NJXA body works fine even with tso2pmd.

Note that bdef4 seems to have some abnormalities which are subtle and I haven't been able to pinpoint yet. Nothing that should be a problem for standard use, I hope.

Oh, and an alternative I only implicitly mentioned is to turn off edges, if that's not an issue for you. Unless you bend the ass/legs at an odd angle it should be pretty hard to tell anything is wrong without edges(maybe if you're after an extreme closeup...).

But unless you are hooked on BoneDoubler or some other addon, I really don't see a reason not to use tso2pmx.

As you should be able to see in the SS, it works alright for me. If I start bending it too far, two small edges start to appear, but that can be very easily fixed. The edges starting near the top of the ass in this shot are there because the top of the ass is at an angle where it's almost perpendicular to the waist, so that's normal.
Also, my version of tso2pmx is 032.

Post a hard save of the character(or just body mod) you're working with and I'll see if I can't get it to bend normally.

So far, it works fine fresh out of the box with tso2pmd. Those models are shown on the right. Tested with all proportions using tso2pmx, however, and I got the same results you did.

So, most likely, for some reason that body mod doesn't work well with tso2pmx's weighting method but works fine with tso2pmd's. If it's not problematic, I'd say you should use tso2pmd or try a different body mod.

I feel like absolute shit and I'm tired right now, but I'll investigate this a little further when I wake up.

I looked into it a little bit, and I can say that the body you're using is not NJXA. It appears to be the G-cup body. Chances are, the reason it works with tso2pmd is the same reason it doesn't work well with tso2pmx. Although, the NJXA works fine with both.

However, like I said, it works well with tso2pmd, so using that should be fine. If your issue is that the limit on tso2pmd's polygon count is too low, if you want to use that body you'll have to just convert two files, and then merge them as a PMX. It's a simple process, although using tso2pmx with a different body mod would be easier.

I still don't use the NJXA body myself, but here's an example. I don't have any mods for large-breasted NJXA girls, so if you want one you're best off getting the mods yourself. Just ctrl+F njxa on the XPC uploader. I gave her a string bikini that doesn't fit to make sure I don't get hit for NSFW content, you can take it off if you convert it.

But, if you liked the body you were trying to work with, I'd just use that. It's high poly too and seems to work about as well. The NJXA also has very few mods, and even less for the large-breasted version.

Also, after observing some things last night, I have my doubts about tso2pmx/BDEF4. It seems to cause some strange behavior, so I'd say to use tso2pmd if you can.

My latest attempt at a model. Still have a lot of things left to fix and improve...

I've always wanted to make her a sailor uniform with a draping shirt, but it's very difficult for various reasons. I was glad with how the sphere map for the skirt came out. It looks kind of like leather, so I'll probably tone it down, but that's a new/good thing in and of itself. If anyone's interested, I'll distribute it. Wait, what? No one's interested?

I don't want to turn this into a blog post so I'll leave things at that, and mention that I'm glad I chose a skintight outfit back when I didn't know anything. If anyone is ever interested in getting into this, skintight outfits are a good idea. I recommend against getting attached to pleated skirts because they're hard to add physics to. Unless you like edges off; almost every aspect of TDCG>MMD modelling becomes ten times easier with edges off.

>> No.8497370

I've been forgetting to mention that I finished translating MMM's manual awhile ago, too.

https://sites.google.com/site/mikumikumovingeng/home

Feel free to rip into my English/translation. I haven't gotten around to editing it yet so I'm sure there are still typos/poorly worded sentences around. I kept the structure, organization, and explanations the same as Mogg had them, though, so that's on him.

I translated the thing in around 2 days, but it took until now for me to finally get around to finishing replacing the images. What a pain in the ass.

Just to be clear though I'm only posting this in case anyone is curious. I don't recommend MMM over MMD just yet, Mogg still has some work to do on the program.

It's an additive map.

I also really recommend downloading m_GUMI from
http://ux.getuploader.com/3xma/
if you're interested in sphere maps. All of the sphere maps on that model are very good(in fact this one is based off of one), and A3G is especially good for stockings and other things which have a shine to them.

As another note I use the sp_h sphere from the Lat model for my model's skin. It gives a light glow around the edges of the skin, kind of like light might. I imagine this one would really be preference, though.

>> No.8497725
File: 388 KB, 1590x584, spheremap.png [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google]
8497725

For anyone curious about what sphere mapping is, I'll try to explain in layman's terms:

It's a texture-based method of controlling what is reflected by an object when light hits it based on angle.

Picture a spherical object. Since the object's a sphere, technically, every point on the object is facing you a different angle. A texture designated as a sphere map is displayed across these different angles(as opposed to being painted onto the model at specific locations with UV mapping).

If you can find a spherical plastic/metal object around you, look at it. You should notice that surfaces parallel to you look dimmer and surfaces perpendicular to you look very bright(are shining). Sphere mapping controls this effect with a texture, so using sphere mapping you could make it have the opposite effect, or even display a pattern/color only when the surface is parallel to you. It's pretty interesting, and obviously very important; in order to create accurate representations of objects which have this effect(not all objects do; for example, leather does but skin does not), sphere mapping is absolutely essential.

Or, that's the basic feel of the concept. I'm sure I've butchered it. I know nobody asked, but I don't really have anything to do with my time right now.

>> No.8498526

>>8498495
Given what I've described, I would say that that should never happen with a "proper" sphere map. I think a lot of sphere maps from TDCG actually do absolutely nothing at all.

In fact, I just opened one up and it was just a white pixel. Essentially, all that will do is recolor the model, or do nothing at all, since it applies the same color to every angle.

But if you have an example of a sphere map that definitely had a desirable effect on one mesh but did absolutely nothing on another, I'd like to see it. There are definitely plenty of things I still don't know.

>> No.8498541

>>8498526
Oh, and there are some cases where the effect of sphere maps will be nearly unnoticeable, like when you're trying to apply a white additive sphere map to a white model. For example, if you apply the sphere map in >>8497506 to a white model, it's going to be hard to tell the difference since all it actually does is add varying amounts of white to the model.

If I want to merge two separate models that I create from TSO2PMD (such as the hair as one pmd, and the body as another pmd), do I need to do anything to them before merging? No, she actually doesn't use any default mods.

>>8499472
No, not really, but you should make sure that the bones line up, although that's probably obvious. For example, if one model is slightly taller than the other, that means its bones are in different locations and its movement will be slightly skewed after merging. That's probably not a concern though, just make sure the important proportions are the same for both models(i.e. if you're using hair, height and hair length proportions are important, but breast proportions aren't) when converting.

The process for preparing a model for merging goes as follows:
1. Load model to be merged by drag+drop(not the base)
2. Go to Joints tab
3. Delete all unwanted joints; this is easy with PMX since you can just ctrl+drag to select. For example, for a hair model, just delete everything but the hair joints.
4. Repeat this process for rigid bodies; remember that regardless of how you convert, all models come with body(orange) rigid bodies
5. Load the merger target model in a different PMDE window
6. Using the same methods as above, delete all overlapping joints and then rigid bodies.
7. Merge by D&D
7optional. Go to Edit>Morph>Merge morphs to make sure there aren't duplicate morphs. Morph accumulation can actually be a crash-causing problem if you merge a lot of models.

OCD fix

Also,
>>8499472
tl;dr
I made it look long, but it's really simple so long as you know what's what.

In fact, if you're merging something without physics, you can simply click Joints+Rigid Bodies on PMDView, ctrl+A, and hit delete. It's only if you're dealing with merging models with separate physics that you have to go in and delete stuff individually.

And I stated it earlier, but it's much, much easier to delete things in PMX mode than in PMD mode. PMD mode can't drag select, so if you have to delete things individually, you can't delete in groups, which is tedious. Anyways, good luck.

Well, if any of you have ever thought about getting into MMD, it's now or never. About two months from now, tons of content is going to be erased from the loda.jp uploader, MMD's premier uploader, because it is closing down due to the copyright infringement ordeal going on.

This content is probably never going to be reuploaded anywhere, and even if it is, would probably be very difficult to find. We're talking about the majority(50%+) of content ever created for MMD here. That includes models, stages, motions, and effects.

This is posted in another thread but that will probably die soon and I want to make sure people who read this thread are aware.

http://3dcg.info.tm/wiki/Main_Page
Here's the main wiki, just to get started.

Unfortunately, ever since HongFire went down, I haven't had access to the torrent to download it, but I'm sure someone can provide.

After you install it, it's all really easy to work with. You'll have a folder named "arc" which is where you'll dump all of your mods to customize your girl with.

You can easily find mod packs to just get a bunch of everything to mod with, but if you want something specific like a hat or a shirt from your favorite character, you can use this to search them up:
http://3dcustom.ath.cx/rails/
Except it's all in Japanese, so you can use this for some common terms:
http://3dcg.info.tm/wiki/3DCGMRS_Tags

That site will tell you what each mod file contains (they're all named TAH0003 and other such nonsense things), but it won't give you a download link. To get the actual mod, you can use something like this:
http://3dcg.info.tm/wiki/DDL_Links_to_Mods
Which has a pretty good compilation of mods arranged by their filename prefix.

After you get a mod you want, just unpack it from its rar and put it in that "arc" folder I mentioned up there.

Then, there are things like >>8318126, which are hard saves. These image files are actually save files in .png form. To use them, find a folder in your "My Documents" that has something to do with 3D Custom Girl, and you'll find a bunch of similar files with green backgrounds. Just name the file
[filename].tdcgsav.png
And it should be added to your list of saved girls in-game, even if you don't have the clothes.

It's pretty straight-forward.
>Find mod you want
>Put it in arcs folder
>Repeat

All of the above, and I just like animation and a feeling of god-mode in real time. More than anything else, if you like watching cute girls/your "waifu" it has no equal.

That, and there is the feeling of being able to animate your girl and have her do whatever you want. It's the next best thing to having brought her to life. If you can create scenes and animate, there's a feeling of connection to the character that I don't think anything else can give you. Even if I was able to draw a perfect picture of her it would never wave to me(Not that I don't love still pictures).

Not sure if I've ever seen that hard save but I'll check.

>>8510721
You mean this? I don't know if it was ever released as a mod. You can always just use the hardsave or rip it with TDCGExplorer.

MMD has shaders which produce this effect and can be used for any model, though, so if you're really interested in using with this sort of thing I highly suggest looking into it. Some of them are very simple to use.

FYI I've successfully used furshader with MMD for sweaters (it's in the shaders starter pack the OP provided in previous threads, search TDCG in the archives). Requires some tinkering but results are good. To save you some trouble, two things to know:
1. You need to edit the variables at the top, especially color. Saving the file immediately shows up the changes in the mmd window.
2. You need to specify which parts have fur in the shader, it's not enough to select the parts in mme. The line in question is
string subSet="0,1";
towards the bottom of the file

It really depends on your preferences.

At the very least I recommend checking out Hissa, Panosuke, and SodaPro's mods. Beyond that, there are really a great deal of mods.

Panosuke's site is here: ttp://panosuke.fc2-rentalserver.com/mod/
You should be able to find the rest on the wiki(>>8506294).

For hair, I recommend anything on the XPC uploader with 髪いくつか in the description(ctrl+F).

Unfortunately, it's difficult to say much else without knowing your preferences. For example, if you like small breasts, I would say that I highly recommend anything with "NJXA" in its description, but that's not so good for large breasts.

I'm not sure what you mean by your last statement, but the OP's stuff is MMD combined with TDCG.

Sorry, I don't know of any sort of quick modding manual, but if you have questions about the system I can probably help you. There is also a "file system" section on our wiki.

Basically, all you should have to do to be able to mod is be able to convert from tso>mqo(using tso2mqo), import the mqo into Blender, and then reverse the process after modding.

Alternatively, there are some knowledgeable people on Hongfire too if you can stomach the board.

Since all (well most of them) of them have been deleted off of 3Dcustom.net.

>>8518983
That kind of reminds me that we've got no way of knowing if some people are going to go and delete things out of fear of new laws/current events. Now might be a good time to download as many mods as possible, although chances are someone on Hongfire would upload a torrent anyways. Not to be alarmist, but with loda going down who knows what's going to happen.

If you can give me the name+number(EX: XPC0582) of mods you want that aren't available, I will upload them if I have them.

This might not be quite the right place to ask, but how do 3D custom maid and custom aidroid compare to 3DCG in terms of dress-up/posing/sex? Much the same or different?

>> No.8519736

>>8519691
Okay everything seems to be working now, but I still have one problem. The tutorial I'm following for tahproportion.exe says to convert base.tah and base_xp.tah but my arcs folder doesn't contain base_xp.tah. Should i convert base_xpr5.tah or anything like that? Or will this work with just base.tah converted.

>> No.8519742

>>8519721
Depends on whether you use MMD or not. If you do and you know what you're doing, it blows everything else out of the water in terms of dress-up and posing but not really sex scenes. Simple model edits can be used to make even bad TDCG mods look pretty damn good.

3DCM and Aidroid probably have higher average mod quality, and they have several graphical effects TDCG does not(but MMD does). I know nothing about Aidroid, but I know that 3DCM has no posing feature. I suspect they are both much better for sex scenes.

If you're in it for the long run and have some dedication, and are more concerned about character creation and posing than sex scenes, go with TDCG. If you want a few free faps, or you really value sex scenes, I'd go with something else.

tl;dr You can think of this as a character/scene creation and posing game, and the other games as h-games with customization. 3DCM does not have a posing mode, I don't know about Aidroid. On the other hand, TDCG has no game element.

Hope that helps.

If your folder doesn't have base_xp.tah, it sounds to me like you probably don't have one of the expansions installed. Not sure what to do in that case, just using base.tah may work.

Sorry, I really know absolutely nothing about that game. I did have a quick look and there is nothing that I can find. The Japanese side looks desolate on Hongfire's mod release page is 2 pages long, with no actual "mods" for the game.

I did take a look at their Aidroid scratchpad wiki, though, and had a good laugh at this:

>Q: The game restarts my computer whenever I try to run it. Help!?
>A: There is region locking in this game. If it fails, it restarts the computer. Short answer: Use HF pApploc or set your Windows to Japanese.

What a fucking asshole game company. That should be illegal.
