Make sure to tell him that you hope he feels better, and make sure that you got a ton of bandwidth and a good machine. Archives use up tons of it.

Why do people assume PHP is a good language? It's the sepples of the Web. Perl can certainly cause headaches, but it's not the worst language. W.T. Snacks had this problem too. Anything Perl, he rewrote in PHP. Why? It works well. It's just as efficient with a reasonable CGI/mod_perl set-up.

If you're going to be elitist, at least do it about something worthwhile.
