I've noticed a lot of details that didn't make me very happy after I shot my figs with a decent camera. Some spots and tiny defects you can't even notice with normal lighting and if you don't specifically look for it.

You should just deal with it, PVC figs even from GSC or Alter are not ideal and you shouldn't worry about some tiny defects.

Highly disappointed. There were nothing good at all.
The figs section of Mandarake is so small and pathetic. Their used game shop is cool though if you like antique gaming system.
I think the only fig that attracted my attention was Alice Pop Wonderland fig.
Nakano broadway is a nice place to go if you like playing ufo catcher and most of the shops there carry prize figures.

mostly depends on how big the box is and if they guy who handles the package at customs has a hangover or not.

holland's 3rd world country tier default mailing company pulls the same bullshit. even if the package is 1 cent above the duty free threshold they still charge full handling costs.

got shipping notice of my BEATLESS (redjuice) fig from GSC. time to see if it was worth the $140 or whatever the hell it ended up costing after conversion.

BoJ has done damage control to keep the JPY:USD above 75:1 everytime it's gotten that bad so expect them to keep 75 as a minimum baseline but probably this 78 as a floating average. As a big exporting nation, Japan doesn't want the yen to get too strong or people buy less shit. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a decade til it gets to 100:1, if ever.

You must live in a shitty country. Over here in Sweden I get my stuff in the expected 3-5 day period (or whatever it tends to say on EMS).

But the tax is just as terrible as anywhere else. Kind of standard to see 20-30 dollars tax on each package. And it really stings when you know you pay tax to avoid hurting your local "Anime figure industry", which doesn't even exist.

I love Mandarake for sending my stuff as gifts. Always feels like a sale.

I don't think I've ever had an EMS package (that wasn't marked as gift) get through without being flagged by customs. Just the shipping alone usually puts you over the tax threshold.

And three days? I usually count my blessings if it's sat in Coventry for less than a week.

I just use SAL for everything possible these days. Usually doesn't take longer than two weeks (except during the christmas season), and almost never gets picked up by customs.

Also, it's probably just the guys at my local depot rather than a nationwide thing, but almost all the EMS packages I've had through Parcelforce look like they've been used as a football or otherwise beaten up or crushed, while SAL stuff through the Royal Mail comes through perfectly fine.

DHL are fucking brilliant, though. Usually two working days at most, no customs delays, and if your package IS flagged by customs, they just deliver it on time as normal and bill you later (and their handling charge is only £1.25). Wish more places offered them as an option.

Anyone managed to place a new order using the new amiami site? Several history purges and alternate browsers later, I still get "unexpected error" when I login to complete my order. The cart seems to be independent of the account management page, so logging in that way doesn't help.
