Good choice, I must say. It's in-stock for preorder, which means you can get an advanced reservation for it, in a manner of speaking. If you preorder it, you're guaranteed to get it, while if you wait to buy it until it's released, there's a chance it might get sold out.

What you described means that it is open for preorders, there are still available preorders left, and that it releases in January.

When you preorder, you give them your mailing and billing addresses, and indicate your method of payment (usually Paypal). Once it is ready to ship (sometime in January in this case), they will bill you and will ship it out once they receive the money.

For shipping, you have a choice between EMS, SAL, or SAL Unregistered. EMS is super fast, but accordingly pricier. SAL is slower, but much cheaper, and permits tracking. Unregistered is even cheaper, but no tracking.

EMS (priority) costs close to double that, and there's a size limit on SAL, so large 1/7 and 1/6 stuff costs a fortune to ship because it gets bumped up to EMS.

You do mean figure right? Figma is just a brand of posable figures by GSC. Anyways, just to let you know, most figures are one time runs, so quite often if you don't get it at release or near release, you don't have much of a chance to get it without paying a much higher (2x-5x) the price. That being said, pretty much the best way to buy is to monitor pre-orders and pre-order ones you like. Just a head up though, most sites (amiami especially) hate when you cancel a pre-order, amiami often bans people for it (usually after 2 times). Anyways, amiami is pretty much the cheapest store, there's a list you could find in the archives which has all the main stores which are trust worthy, or someone else might post it.

Mandarake for older (not recently released/sold out) figs and other goods (you have to search using japanese names and characters, not english). e2046 for GKs (you have to build them and paint them yourself). The new amiami site sucks ass, they completely removed every GSC sale item and many others from the english site, and splitted the two sites in different servers, meaning you can't add them in the cart in the japanese site and checkout in the english one.
This sales were the only real appeal ami had for me, with the yen going up and everything, I guess I'll just stick with hobbysearch, the have similar sales most of the time and never remove any from the english site.

Stock levels seem to be a (hopefully temporary) casualty of the site redesign. Seems to be missing from the japanese site too, now. They've been tweaking things a fair bit since it went live, so hopefully they'll find a way to get them shown again (preferably in a more prominent location).

If you add something to your wishlist, then view your cart (even if your cart is empty), there's a "Stock" column for your wishlist items under your cart, but I'm not sure if that ever shows actual numbers (everything I've tried just says "Plenty available").
