If you're in Abyssea it's pretty much a given that 90% of people aren't paying attention. I started up a new character recently and got to 90 within a few weeks, I don't think I actually paid attention once going from 30-90 other than running to the camp. Leeching is just so much more efficient than standard levelling and it lets you reach the content fast so I have no problem with it. Once they 'fix' FFXIV they plan on shutting down XI so it's helpful for newer players to actually experience the wide range of content the game has to offer. I miss the old EXP camps though, I had some pretty fun times levelling up my old character even if it did suck my entire life away. ;_;

Hi, Gust thread. I've been playing a bit of Rorona recently, and got one ending so far. Right now I'm trying to raise everyone's friendship so I can get all their flags and get Astrid's ending. Here's the problem though, I really forgot about seeing the events for Tantris. I have yet to see the scene between him and Meriodus about this "medicine" or something and I'm at 2y11m14d. PS3Trophies says I have to get this during my second year or I won't have enough time. Am I still able to get his flag in the game or am I fucked and I have to reload a save?

You don't really have to level much. Just make the best tera bomb you can and use that to victory all the way through every boss. Hell, I didn't even make an explosion damage one, I used fire and that does ass to dragons and beat them all with no problem.

Also you can just grind on bunny punis at Ortho if you really want to level fast.

It depends. It you want to do it yourself then it can be time consuming and annoying to do. If you want to play the game casually then grab the save file off GameFAQs then you can save yourself considerable time and let yourself move onto other things like Totori. I think this only works with the NA version of the game though since I didn't see any EU saves.

What tool & setting did you use? I've been trying to cut out Jacqli in GIMP without much success. Having the magic wand tool's threshold set too low gives shittons of jaggies, and set too high starts removing chunks of Jacqli, and I can't seem to find a middle ground between the two.

You sell everything you get out of the spring cups unless you want to keep some of it for synthesis.

The Spring Cup 'trick' is even more important in Totori compared to Rorona because your income via quests is really bad. Just don't attempt it until you get the Dark Dew to kick start things because you'll barely break even/make a loss without having those Dark Dews. In Totori, stuff that has a sell price below 1 cole cannot be sold. A low quality Spring Cup without enough unlocked liquids will generate a lot of unsellable trash.

In addition to making money, Spring Cups, Happy Baskets and the plant pots are a great way to 'roll' for synthesis materials with particular traits without having to leave your workshop with the bonus of making a tidy profit off the stuff you don't use.

Reserve your Chims to replicate very high level stuff. Stuff that has traits that cannot be wholesaled and rare ingredients with very nice traits. Having a Chim or two dedicated to making pies allows for the rest of the team to keep on working without having to worry about running out.

I've been listening to the Arland soundtracks for the past 2-3 weeks, and it made me think how boring the soundtracks to western games have become. Just the variety of used instruments itself blows another generic I-want-to-be-Zimmer/Williams VST orchestra or some electronic ambient trying to pass as music out of the water.

Pretty much. It's all dependent on the market, really. Some western games have excellent soundtracks while most of them are generic and for the most part mediocre. Japanese games aren't afraid of experimenting a little and throwing in unique arranges. The fact that soundtrack CD's actually sell in Japan gives them more reason to put out higher quality work since quite a bit of extra income can come from it.

Playing AT2 right now and enjoying most of it.
Combat took some time to master, but now I have no trouble most of the time (except those attacks that shake the screen and make the block meter thing jump around like it's gone apeshit).
Though I admit I don't like the cosmospheres. They feel sort of fillerish and break the flow of the game. I'd skip them but I need the spell upgrades.

This is an odd question, but does anybody know if Ar Tonelico works on a PS2 modded with MC Boot, using USBExtreme/USBAdvance to load it? I haven't been able to find a comprehensive compatibility list for the program, and none of them list AT as either working OR non-working on it.
