Moriyas are winning the war of faiths in Gensokyo by a landslide.

They were already formidable in MoF, when they were weakened by transporting their entire shrine into Gensokyo and didn't have any followers.

Now whole Youkai Mountain is worshipping them and Underworld is supporting them.

Other groups will have to make a move soon if they don't want to get completely dominated.

Most if not all Kappa and Tengu worshipping them was mentioned many times.

Satori rented Okuu to Suwako in hisoutensoku.

>> No.8207339

You can amass all the followers you like, but when it really comes down to it, the Hakurei Shrine has the faith of everyone in Gensokyo, whether you count them among your allies now or not.

>> No.8207345

>>8207339
>In Gensokyo there was a shrine called the Hakurei Shrine.
>Although that shrine had almost completely lost all its faith, it was popular with youkai and it was said there was always some youkai frequenting it.

>Most if not all Kappa and Tengu worshipping them was mentioned many times.

I'll ask again, where did you get that from?

>Okuu

That's only one person, not the whole Underworld, who doesn't even know who Kanako is, and the Moriyas already replaced her in WaHH anyway so she doesn't count anymore. There's nothing about Satori taking any kind of participation either.

>> No.8207353

So...Yukari and...Akyuu?

Those are the only two that still have some sort of faith, at least, acknowledgement of it. The rest only visit for the free food that Reimu gives in parties.

Satori rented her friend and pet to them. It's obvious she trusts them.

And:
>Along with becoming an object of worship, Kanako was also accepted as a playmate of the youkai.
>Feasts were held almost every night.
>This was exactly the kind of faith Kanako was wishing for.
>Nevertheless, she collected the faith of the mountain youkai, and attained great divine virtue. She did not realize that this meant that the power of the mountain youkai, in other words the tengu and the kappa, were becoming too great.
>With that, there was the fear that the power balance of tranquil Gensokyo would collapse

Please post your sources for both of your statements.

There's nothing that says that Satori has done anything past SA. Utsuho isn't restricted to her orders you know, and why should Satori trust the god that made her pet into a nuclear killing machine?

>> No.8207372

>>8207353
No it doesn't. Reimu's god is pissed at her because it's the laughingstock of the other gods due to the practically zero worship it gets.

It's not worship, because nobody's going to worship a lazy shrine maiden and an unseen god. By faith I mean allegiance, in the sense that if conflict broke out between the Hakurei Shrine and anywhere else that anywhere else would have most of Gensokyo stacked up against them.

>> No.8207390

>>8207371

Quotes are from Kanako's MoF profile...

>> No.8207391

>>8207381
No she isn't, she's done all of her duties, cleans the shrine everyday and does ceremonies often, not once has she denied her obligations. Being unsuccesful is another thing, because the first Hakurei thought it would be a splendid idea to build the shrine right next to the youkai-filled forest and far from the human village. One of the reasons that's most commonly mentioned in the books of Reimu not getting faith is her befriending with youkai.

>> No.8207393

They worship her in the sense that she throws parties and people go to them, so she's a pretty cool god to have around plus we didn't have one anyway.

And Reimu built a summer house for Kanako in the Hakurei shrine in one of the endings, iirc, Reimu actually got donators for doing that because she actually had a god now.

>>8207424
It's not a real robot, it's a balloon.

Ending says it's moved by the steam coming from Okuu's reactor that is under it, but they replaced her with cold fusion so that project's a goner.

>> No.8207434

Almost all Shinto religious activities involve parties.

If they go to her parties she gets faith.

>> No.8207435

They can't even power a hot spring bigger than a bathtub with cold fusion yet. The underground geyser center will be operating a while yet.

>> No.8207445

>>8207435
They already had cancelled the nuclear fusion project by then because ''it was too expensive''.

Right after Kanako made the succesful cold fusion attempt, she now had the same kind of energy source except with a lower price, and it still creates steam for the robot to wobble around.
