Few tips:
* Don't drink the water! Drink brand name canned goods every chance you get! (coca cola! nestea!)

* Be prepared for bear sex beneath the Great Wall of China!

You will not like the food. You have been warned.

Oh and when you are buying goods, just be careful of the price. Foreigners get foreigners price.

E.g: Gucci bag (likely fake) said to be orginal for US 150. We started walking away and she says US 75, then 60. At that point my mother turn around and say US 20. She sold the bag to us.

Although we are chinese and speaks mandarin so they didn't know we were from another country too..

food's good, albeit oily. i had some great ramen in a bit-better-than-fastfood restaurant along Wangfujing, and there are some famous dumpling places where you go and gorge yourself silly.

haggling-wise, it depends on whether you know mandarin and how rich/poor you look. but don't bother trying to get local-level prices, they know better than that. i mean, you probably have a lot more money than locals anyway.

What are you talking about? Granted, the food isn't as good as in Shanghai or Hong Kong, but it's still better than any chinese food you'd find out of the China. Pretty cheap too. Try peking duck, of course. My favourite is at 'Duck King' - look it up. You can get authentic Korean or Japanese meals done on the cheap too (compared to where I live).

And also, dude, US 20 for a fake brand bag? You've been ripped off already! Try going for 10 US dollars or less for a Chanel.

As for weeaboo stuff, your best bet is at small bookshops that often stock manga and bootleg DVDs (hidden behind the rows of manga). You can get a lot of legit models if you're into mecha. For figures, I'm not too sure about. I've only seen a few. There are also lots of J-pop/J-rock CDs/DVDs/lives, depends on where you look.
